    Hey Guys,
I hope the pictures upload ok????
Im hoping someone out there might be able to shed some light on a car I recently aquired?
Its an old '32 Roadster that was built back in the '50s or 60s and was supposed to be the car that was featured on a TV that was just shown up north called 'Ghoulardi'.
It been in Storage and aprt from the real ****TY 80s wheels added the car is pretty much a timewarp and has been in a garage for 35 years!!!
Car has lots of nicely done mods...channel job, molded dash ('41 Mercury) and a rolled rear pan. It has a '59 Corvette 283 with 6x2 as you can see.
Any help on this would be greatly appriciated!!!
    Cheers
    Dean

you mean ernie anderson from cleveland ohio? that Ghoulardi?

Ernie Anderson shocked and delighted Northeast Ohio in the mid-1960s, when his Ghoulardi show was not to be missed on Friday nights. 30 years later, the Ghoulardi legend is still firmly rooted of the people who watched and in the pop culture of an entire city.

That would be 'down South' from here but a cool car anyway....seems as he was the local horror show host, don't know where the car fits in...

    Hey Man,
Yeah I heard it was pretty popular!
You wouldn't happen to know if I could get some footage or pictures from it would you?
The 2 brothers that this car originally came from brought it straight from the studio in the '60s and didn't do much else after.
    thanks,

I can wait for the new chrome reverse and whitewalls to go back on the car so it doesn't look like an '80s ****box streetrod!

    Dean,
We have been gathering Ghoulardi stuff for almost 20 years....got film of the show, news clippings, photos, etcetc...but have not heard of the '32 in connection with the aired show....we have one source who , other than maybe Lux Interior, might have something to share- we will contact him....
You might also want to try to find "Big Chuck" in Cleveland ( PARMA????) who worked faithfully with Ernie Anderson on the show and was actually responsible for all the cool music Ghoulardi had in the background....He still works in television,we think, and had a sidekick called "Little John" in the '90s....
We also have a few personal live shots of Ernie in Ghoulardi drag from '60s live appearances, we will eyeball those for any info....
So stay sick and turn blue!

I lived in Cleveland from 64-67, going to school and working downdown. Ghoulardi was a big hit and funnier than hell. He created (I believe) the Polish Jokes, and many of my friends were Polish so it was a lot of fun. He was way out there in those days. Wracked my brain but cannot remember anything about the rod at all. Long live Ghoulardi and his old rod.:D

Do you have any pics of the car in its early stages? If you do you need to post them ASAP. Im sure i'm not the only one quorious to know what she looked like back in the day.

  17. I've lived in the greater Cleveland area my entire life and Ernie was a local cultural icon....but I don't remember the car? Maybe it was in one or two of his skits. Big Chuck can still be seen on TV once in a while and Little John can too. I think Lil' John owns a jewelry store or something. Ernie got the boot because he went over the line one time to many!

Ghoulari? When I watched the show (regularly for a couple years) it was called "The Ghoul". Basic 'B' movie monster stuff. I never saw the car. Maybe they did some local promo in person? Then again a lotta toxins have coursed through my system since then...what kinda car was it again?

I couldnt figure out how to make them bigger for the HAMB? I could only have them a certain size so I had to reduce them.
does anyone know how I can do it?

I dont have any early pics unfortunately.
The 2 brothers who had it the longest got it straight from the TV studios.
I think the car was used in a couple of episodes but maybe not a regular?

Thanks again guys for all the info,

That helped. Now when you double left click you get a full size. Earlier it didn't help. Detail fuzzy, though. Not much you can do there.

Never heard of "Ghoulardi", but I too watched '"The Ghoul" in the '70's. I believe it was out of Ohio somewhere. Don't remember any duece, but he did blow up Froggy a lot!
