I think that this is the car that Rick "Surf" Stambaugh purchased back in the day. If so, I have the brake package from this car for my Soapy Sales/Mr Lucky restoration.

Rooman, you're absolutely right. Rick and I went to California to pick up this car. Met Wes Cerny and Don Moody. Don took us to the garage where the car was stored. Rick bought it and a week and a half later, we had it back in Virginia. We immediately disassembled the car for a makeover into the New Generation Top Fuel car. Here is a pic of the car after we took it apart in the backyard of Rick's townhouse. We passed it all, including the frame, through the dining room window. Later, we took the parts to various places for paint, etc. Great times those were. I still miss my pal Rick too. 001.jpg

I'm just learning the new photo posting technique, meant to caption the above photo, but until I figure out how to add text to picture, my intended text was:

This is either Paul Sutherland's coupe or Jerry Card's coupe...I think it it Sutherland. I saw it run the Smoker's meet in 60 or 61, in primer, never forgot it.

  16. Is that Paul Sutherland's coupe?

Hello guys, It's been a while since I've been on-lots of life's other issues bogged me down. But I've been keeping tabs on things and it looks like you wouldn't mind seeing some more color views. The one I've attached is one I just got off of ebay. This looks like the Green Monster to me. Can anyone confirm this? No idea where this is other than the slide mount which says October 1962. More to come.

Take care from the partsrivet. [IMG]

My friend John House, who now lives in Denver spent his younger days in the Bay Area and got some views from Fremont and Half Moon Bay with a camera his grandfather gave him. I told him about this site and what a great place it is to post vintage drag car pictures. These Fremont pictures are from October 1964 and as you can see, some are obvious . But he doesn't remember all of them so maybe you'll be able to help him ID the unknowns. Anyway, John hopes you'll enjoy them. [IMG]
