Projects No Compromise : Ford A coupe

Hi Guys,

First, sorry for my bad english but I would like to show you my new project.

Approximately 6 months ago I started the frame for my new rod "No Compromise".
It will be a 30/31 model A coupe body on '32 rails.

I started with a pair of ASC rails because I didn't find an original frame here in Belgium and the rails were in my stock since a couple of years.

For a traditional look, I decided to drill all originals holes with dimensions found on internet and taken by a friend on its original frame.

 

After that, I decided to take an aftermarket front crossmember and make few cuts and weldings to obtain a flat crossmember

First time I've seen holes added and not filled. I'll be watching your build with "No Compromise".

So, I decide to dismount it :

I take '47-'48 wishbone model for its shape that I like.

In first time, I modify it for nicer look :





I weld bungs that I found here in the classifieds :



I like the shape but they are too long, so I remove +/- 6"1/2
The holes were for the tie rod but I change my idea :

I want to use the original u-bolts system :






I also use original style shackles but with aftermarket bushing :






For the flat top axle bolts, I use '35 original perches :

Now, the adaptation of the buick drum but with the buh inside the drum :

The motorcycle tires on french artillery wheels, I very like the look :

The door comes from a '30 sedan delivery :


I absolutely love this molding... so I decided to use the doors.
I removed 2" in the width, 5" for the top-chop (but I think it will be 6") and 2" for the sectionning in the first door to have an idea.
The bottom molding will be in one piece below the door, like on '32 ford, and it will join the cowl to the quarter panel.

I also have a lot of pics for the door modification and the louvers in the hood but perhaps it's better to wait more job on the body before I post them ?

 

I can't wait to see what you do to the rear quarter body line to match that door. I'm sure you have it figured out...looking forward to seeing it.

 

But you will wait because I don't have the quarter panels at this time

I still seek after that. At this time I don't have a lot of money but if someone has a pair, I'm very interested. I have the rear window panel and also the roof parts above doors, so just the quarter panels.

I have a photoshop (but it's not my speciality) that I want to do :



It's a 35 front roof section and wilshield frame.

Many, many job to do and many years to be patient...
