Always one of my favorite HAMB threads. Those on facebook, look for the Junior Stock Memories page. Lots of photos, info and ex-racers there.
was doing some cleaning out and reorganizing toolbox last week and came across this from 1970 gatornationals, can not remember how far we went as memory is a little fuzzy.
Guys, The York Musclecar Madness show is coming up in York in July as you may or may not know. There are a ton of Tri Five Jr. Stockers showing up plus who knows what else from that Era when Stockers ruled. If you have seen the Yoo Hoo Too 56 Delivery page you know what I mean. Many of the actual restored specific cars that ruled back then will be there. The plan is to be at York by noon on Thursday, July 10 so we can put the cars in the same hall at the same time. Kinda like staging lanes if you will. So, if the timing can possibly work for you as a long hauler or not, this is how the plan stands. If you're coming it's going to be something to behold as Darwin Doll posted last year immediately after York 2013. They'll be nothing like it again. Thanks guys. Hope to see you there..
Sure glad to see this topic again, i'd like to thank everyone that posts pics and info here, darned enjoyable viewing and reading.
The Meltdown Drags is the weekend after this in Byron ILL. Are any of you Jr. Stockers going to Byron as well? Hope to see some of you guys.
Got this picture at Indy today. Vic Holleys Jr/Stocker. Has the proper two-four carbs and all the little things that we all love.
I'd say this could technically run Jr stock until it hammered down and drove past the competition. A Swiss cheese Pontiac Catalina with aluminum and fiberglass panels and bumpers and plexiglass windows. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Not on a 55 but they were factory 2x4'S that I think he said came from Kyle Marshall. Close enough for you?
Yes it's true about the old days but without bracket racing ,drag racing as we know it would have died a long time ago. It's so expensive today to even think about a stock eliminator car that's competitive is unheard of.
Hydrophobia Delivery....Do you know if any of the Jr. Stockers plan on being at Beaver Springs on Sunday. Thanks....JT
I plan on having Kyle Marshalls delivery there. BG HRR 2013 014 by Junior Stock posted Aug 28, 2013 at 8:38 PM
I'd like more info on the show, as I' d like to attend. You can e-mail me at: BadNewsRacing1329@yahoo.com. Thanks. Kevin.
On Wednesday at 8 pm CDT on the history channel the pickers will be at Rocco and Cheaters Speed Shop in Birmingham AL. They were my primary sponsor back in the day. This should be interesting and a real history lesson on speed and custom parts. Last I know when they closed many years ago they still had speed and custom parts from the 50's. It will be like opening a time capsule. Don Kirkland's Carrot Cart.
All the information for the York reunion can be found here. Hope to see you there. http://www.yorkus30.com/
I found a shot of that final ... I broke out with a 13.94 on a 14.00 dial .... Doszi ran a 14.55 on a 14.60 dial.....Both of us on the brakes! oh well.
