Thanks for the pics, but can you define: "fed up with Good-Guys in itself."

Most folks are fed up with GG for not having a year cut off date and the high event registration fees. Who goes to a car show to see new Mustangs, Corvettes, Challengers and Camaro's? I can see them on new car dealers lots. I stopped going to GG events when they discontinued drag racing. They charge too much money for a Lawn Chair event.

Glad I did not go. I thought it would be boycotted by the true hot rodders.

The whole show only had 9 HAMB friendly cars, I guess did not miss to much. Thanks for the pics.

I drove 200 miles to attend Bubbas Spamarama event but didn't bother with the GG's show. It has steadily declined in attendance and quality of "cool" cars since they moved from ORP. I did hear that it will be back at ORP next year, which is a step in the right direction. But if they allow anything newer than early 70's cars I most likelywon't attend. On a Side note Bubbas party was kick ass! And probably had a better turn out of HAMB friendly cars than the Good Guys show!

I agree 100%. A friend and I went to GG Charlotte two years ago and the turnout was pathetic. Number of vendors and quality has been going down for a long time. I think the pricing structure has finally caught up with them as well as the no cut off idea.

Let's set the record straight. There is a cut off year (read the rules). 'All American Sunday' is added for new 'American' car parcipitation. Vendors are growing in the GG shows I do, and public attendance as well. Great swap meets. Auto-Cross has replaced Drag Racing because of parcipitation and insurance/location. Come on guys. Get out of your lawn chair and walk around the events. Compliment the owners of cars that are well done, no matter the year. It's a buffet, sample what you 'like', pass on what you do not 'like'! Stand around your car and visit (ambassador) with interested people. You just might win a convert over to our side. Small prices for a 3 day event compaired to what a 1 day 4-6 hour local show/cruise night costs. If we don't support the large shows they will disappear like Rod & Custom magazine did. In life and car shows, "you get out of it, what you put into it."

It`s simple. If you don`t attend, they`ll quit putting them on. Then where are you gonna drive to?

Local shows bore the piss outta me as I get to see the same cars I saw last week at another location.
The big shows draw more to look at and that`s why they`re worth attending. I do my shopping for my current project at the larger shows for the free shipping or big discounts when available.

Quit bitching and look at whatever interests you. Beats watching unrealistic reality car shows...

I like big shows but generally the ones that are put on by clubs (back to the 50s for example) have thrived without becoming entangled with nationwide corporations (NSRA,GG for example). So from my perspective you pick and choose where you go to see the great arrays of hot rods.

Okay,I didn't post HAMB friendly pics according to one poster, what exactly qualifies a HAMB friendly pic, some piece of crap rotted out '29 Ford pickup with everything you can find at a yard sale welded on to it ? Somebody set me straight in what is and what is'nt allowed here.My comments on the show was not to berate the show,I am a Good-Guy member with no horse in the race(no show car) and I love going to these kind of events for photographing cool looking rides.I also see that I wasn't the only one who noticed that registration was down from previous years,I can only wonder if it's because it was at the fairgrounds, not exactly the same as being at the Speedway or Raceway Park, but it was big enough to hold many more registered cars.I hope they do take it back to Raceway Park just for the fact we can see some drag racing.Sorry for the rant, but I'm not particulary having a good day and thanks to those who thanked me for the pics, something I really appreciate.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Over all the event was disappointing. We covered the cars in a couple of hours and there wasn't much else to do. I was hoping to purchase some parts for current projects, but the swap meet was almost non existent and there wasn't a major or even a local vender selling basic stuff. Aside from the drags at the Raceway Park venue you had a great swap meet and almost all of the major vendors. I will be surprised if it lasts another couple of years.

Don't anybody worry about GG or the NSRA not having these Lawn Chair events that y'all are so happy with. Trust me, their events are here to stay. They are making bags of money off of car owners registration fees and then charging spectators to see our cars. NSRA charges spectators $12 Greedguys $22. What a novel idea. I wish I would have thought of it first.

If you want to go to a great event, go to the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion's. Non stop Nostalgia drag racing.

If you want to set the record straight please use real facts.Indy was an All American event. That means you could enter ANY American vehicle or American powered vehicle.I belive thier are 4 of these events held by Goodguys. Most of thier events are 72 and older but not all of them.Goodguys does have a good event i really like them.I havnt been to a NSRA event for a while but last time i went they were bad and growing smaller.Everything is too expensive anymore so you really have to pick and chose your events.

The Indy event has been steadily declining since the move away from ORP. It used to be on our must go to list. It had a great swap meet and there were many after hours parties around Indy too. NO ONE that I spoke with Friday night at the Spam A Rama party that was at the show during the day had anything good to say about it except for the Hot Rod of the Year event. I suspect if that wasn't with this show it would have had nothing going for it. Its a shame I but I dont know if it can ever make it back to what it once was.

so, only one guy went to show 'n' swap that had a camera/phone? Gooodguys have their good and bad but, as stated if you don't support shows/swaps they will go away. try putting one on some time and see how hard & expensive it is to do.

The admission to Goodguys Indy was $15. and if you are a member of Goodguys or in the service it was $10. I thought the Fairgrounds was a great venue and was very clean with plenty of shade and buildings. The swap was about half the size it has been in the past and I worked my butt off promoting it trying to make it worth coming to. We had inside spaces with AC and outside spaces. I only seen approx. 10 post 1972 cars and trucks out of 1100.

I just came back from York Pa NSRA show.Great attendance this year and tons of hot rods. There were some very nice 60s cars but the vast majority of cars were hot rods.Mabey some dont qualify as HAMB friendly but I forced myself to look at them.It wasnt so bad.I paid $35 for 4 days of fun with old cars and old friends. If thats too much for some people Im sorry. But I suspect they have other reasons. All I can say is PRIORITIZE.

I hope you Greedguy's supporters don't think they are putting on these events for your benefit. Its for the $$$$$$ and nothing else. If you don't understand that your living in a dream world.

    AMEN BRAD ,
Being a older car guy with a been there done that way behind me it makes me sick to see some of my local Indy friends bitch about this event.
First of all the Car Craft street machine nationals had a few years in Indy and the grounds handled many more cars so the facility is better than ever. The neighborhood may not be the best but us local Indy guys go there from time to time to the Hoosier Hundred and the State Fair with no fear what so ever. One of my out of state friends told me they wasnt coming based on the location !!! Guess where they were from ?????? DETROIT!!!! Get real.
My take was the event was down on cars (like many others across the country) and the Indy track held a huge event this year the same weekend ( many of my pals went there).
The swap meet was great in a well lit open are inside with A/C and we will be back next year .
We have plans for another Spam A Rama on main street in Speedway next year on friday night again. This was my last one , however Barbque and Bourbon will do it again and i plan on being there to help their efforts....See ya next year in Indy..........
