    Hi guys

I'm looking for pictures of how low you can get model a without cutting the chassis, I've got split wishbones but stock frame, obviously I can add a dropped beam on the front but was wondering about the rear.
I don't want to channel or cut the frame due to laws over here in the UK.

You can get pretty low,and if you have fenders they appear to be lower, you don't have to Z a frame to achieve a low stance.

It's not a model A but I didn't cut anything on my Deuce pickup. HRP

If you are not running the front Frame horns , with spring behine axle , you can almost drag the oil pan .But the back you can only lower the frame & axel tube about 2" from each other .((For ride clearencs.)) with out cutting the frame , but you could Notch the Axel tube where the frame hits & gain a nother 1 to 1 1/2 inch

You could run the springs in front/back of the rear end and front axle to get a couple inches in addition to whatever other things you do. 37 wishbones could do it up front. Any of the spring behind banjo rears could be used to run spring behind or in front.

I've seen a 5.5" dropped axle somewhere too.

  8. You can lower the front about 5" with a dropped axle and reversed eye spring. In the back you and get it down about 3" with a Model T or custom spring. Frame to axle clearance is the issue here.

Reworking the frame changes all the dynamics. I've seen pictures of UK based rods that appear to have modified stock or complete aftermarket frames. If you haven't done so already, talk with hot rod owners at cruise ins or shows and find out how they got their modified chassis through inspection.

  11. 4 inch dropped axle, reverse eye spring in front. Rear is uncut JW Rod Garage frame with 8 & 3/4 Mopar rear. I think it's about as low as you can get one without cutting the frame. I'm 5' 10 " and the roof is armpit high!!!

    That's a 28-29 on a 32 frame. Not model A.
