I think that would make a cool tow truck! Even if you never actually tow with it, you ought to load it all up just once...it would make a great photo op. Thanks
    for the pic.

This site is still not user friendly. I clicked on post all pics full size and it posted thumbnails. I even tried editing, still no luck.

I've had issues with that too but seems to work if you click them each individually. Just make sure you do them from top to bottom or the sequence will change.

Don't Forget everybody in the Tenn. area Gene Cromer and the Moonlighter will be racing with the South East Gasser at Knoxville Drag Strip this Saturday the 28th race starts at 3 o;clock. This could be your only chance to not only see the Moonlighter but get too see it run. We are expecting about 16 period correct gassers.

I think that you are right because I heard Gene refer to the motor that he is running now as a junk motor that he put together. I have seen it run and it ain't no slouch.

Thanks for the pics Frank. I can still click and make them big. Looks like the new motor will still use hi riser heads. Something tells me that block may find a stroker crank and updated cam (and maybe more updated goodies) inside soon.

Somehow I missed your post up the page Quain. I'm keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for Saturday. If it doesn't look to be a rain out , I'll be making the 200 mile trek over from the Nashville, Tn. area. Seeing all this stuff on the internet is nice, but I'm real excited about experiencing the gasser racing and you great guys and your cars in person. Make sure y'all have some Moonlighter shirts there to buy.

They say a good gambler plays his cards close to the chest.
Shucks, I had a ton of little secret tricks when I was running Stock Eliminator back in the day. Most competitive cars did. We would had to have killed you if you told them to the folks we were running ... lol.

Understandable. If the junk motor is pulling the wheels like it is, the good motor might have um up passed the 330 lol.

What a cool set of pics watching the Master at work, it must be great bringing all those skills back to life again.
Is Gene still going to be at the Meltdown Drags?

Great pics of Gene working his magic on those heads. The exhaust ports look damn good. I got a copy of Rodders Journal, what a great write up! Also got a black and blue t-shirt from Gene, real cool! I live on the wrong coast. No chance for me to see him run this car? I'll just wait for the videos to roll in.

I'm glad I decided to post the engine build pics, they have revived the thread. It would be nice to debut the "good" engine at the Meltdown Drags, but I don't see that happening.
