I use a spray gun for body and frame,, but cans "gloss black Rustoleum" for rear axle, and silver metal flake cans on front axle over coated with clear also cans. Both with cans so there EZ to patch up over time

I've always done all my own artwork myself, yet there are times when a pro fellow artist buddy { Mark Klein, http://2mkd.com/ ] just pop's something on ya,and this was one of those! We'd been talking about carshows an showcards a weekago just as part of are BSing. Here is what he did for me,fantastic nice in deed.
Thanks very much "Mark the Art" from "The Bat"
Now to do it some proud,I'll build a small custom stand for the super showcard!
The photo is a little washed out,so what looks white is shiny gold lettering that match up nicely with my polished brass stuff.

This passed week with all the rain here, it finiely let up . I've put in some time on my hotrod. The old alum slots that I been putting off polishing, well it was time. I picked up some Mothers an there polish ball plus some wet/day 1200 to mess around with the rims tell they looked Ok to me. The rears had been sandblasted to kind of just gray long time ago,but the fronts just showed a lot of age from never having anything done to them from new. How they were can pretty much be seen in post 181 before I worked them over. They came out nice enough, got my wife out side to have a look too. IMAG1678.jpg

We got to the show early to set up,in a fairly short time later about 200+ cars were there,I did get a best decorated Model A prize at the end. Had one prob about 1/8th of a mile from getting to the show, rod started running bad,was fine up tell then. Turned out got some crap in the neddle n seat, even though I have two filter in the line, one at tank n one after pump. So float was over flowing. Had to pull aircleaner n see it dripping in. Its a Holley 4bbl,so pulled the neddle n seat out,an blow that clean, run good after.

I got a extra Y-block to play with, going to try to do some things I always wanted to with it.
I pulled an cleaned up its oilpan and added a skidplate to its bottom of 1/8in. plate as a starter.
Fig on re-ring and bearings with a valve job, plus going to build homemade log intake for 4x2 using 4 Ford 94 at some point. The planned supercharger stopped short when I got to the point I needed a 7in. drive snout even thought I made the intake for that. Having fun running to shows nearly every weekend as my rod is now, just got ta keep something happening in my head for extra fun too. 10623538_848586001826806_825932521161588424_o.jpg

Got another 292Y that rolls over smooth, same as the one in my rod that smokes now when ragged on hard. Thats kind of why I'm playing with fixing up a fresh "Y" and thinking about going for adding sexyer 4x2 log on it,I'll make the log.

Something fairly close in style to the pic above, but with 3/8in. plates to heads.
One side in pic looks like some one made it way too thin to hold a gasket.
Always interested in adding to what I know,so found this info on log intakes;http://victorylibrary.com/mopar/log-c.htm
But I'm thinking of making my own with devider for ports up a about 2in., in tube runners coming off head, idea being idal maybe better with those vs open twin port feed.
Looking around my shop there is some old cut off drive shaft tube I think will work for fab. the smaller 2.5in. I.D. one I'm thinking will do good for the logs vs I see what looks like 3in. logs on most photos I look at..
I'd like to keep plummu size down a little, again hoping for better idal for street driving.
