Len - I was told the same story. Whoever bought it from Donati, eventually it was purchased by Jack Croteau, of Colonial Beach, VA and became the "Beachcomber".

    Dennis -
I knew Skip. I used to go to Hanover Airpark and talked to him a lot in the 80's. He was a great source and knew quite a bit about these cars. I remember his lightweight Galaxie. Monty Cline new about these cars also. He is still around to my knowledge.

To all, does anyone have any information on the 64/65 Comet raced on the east coast, hailed from south Richmond, Va sponsored by Manchester Mercury in Richmond? I was told by Lloyd Talley, who drove it for part of a season, that it was also somehow connected to Dan Weis, of Richmond Dragway fame. Any info or pics of this car would be appreciated.

When I was an active street-dragstrip racer(61-67), Monte Cline wrenched 0n my cars at his Dad and Mom's service station in Chester, Virginia on the corner of Old Chester Road & Rte. 10. The Rebel Rouser T-Bolt was there quite often, along with all the local hot Fords. Monte did a lot of rear traction work on the T-Bolt. The rear of the T-Bolt would actually lift off the track each shift and loose traction. Not good for winning.!!!! Maybe that explains yblockva. seeing the T-bolt rearend assembly in Balderson's garage when he lived in Richmond.?

Calling on all the NSS guys and Stock Eliminator Guys. On a Caltrac system Thunderbolt what is the best Size wheel Tire Combo For the T-Bolt. To Mini tub or not to Mini Tub. Is the 9x30 Stock Eliminator Tire enough. I have seen the 10.5 x 29.5 Nss tire on a 8 inch rim but will a 10 inch rim fit without cutting into the frame to far? It looks like moving the axle back one inch would solve a lot of problems but does that effect weight transfer too much.Helping a friend out, havent starting cutting yet, didnt want to get too carried away.

Looks like a metal hood from a 67 Mustang with a fiberglass Thunderbolt-type bubble molded onto it.

That is true but the "thunderbolt" on the rear fender should be removed. :)

Back on page 52 of this amazing forum, there is a bit of information on a Thunderbolt called 'Baby Dump Rat'. This was my grandfathers car that he raced in Michigan. He also had a 63 1/2 Galaxie 500 427 R-Code that he also raced as well. I think it was called 'Dump Rat'. These were just 2 of the many cars he had. Anyways, I'm just looking for more pictures and information about it. I attached a picture that I have. It says Rayford Keith, but his last name was actually Keeth.

Farnham Ford Thunderbolt in the trophy run of A/FX class at Richmond Dragway in Nov 1964. Driver Bob Balderson turned 11.22 seconds at 119.64 mph to win the class.
