    Quain:
The success of the South East Gasser's is no surprise to me.

This is what drag racing used to be back in the 60's and I am so happy to see it doing so well and growing more each year.

You having contributed so much of yourself and your time and I thank you for all of your hard work.

Ditto on that Jim. Not only did Quain get Gene and the Moonlighter back on the path to racing again, but he has created a place for these wonderful old machines to look, run, and entertain us like they did in the sixties. How sad it would be for these old warriors to rust away, or be relagated to the e.t. brackets. Quain deserves a HUGE amount of credit for keeping drag racings' gasser heritage alive.

I hope this is not considered heresy. Have y'all ever considered including altered wheelbase early to mid sixties sedans (unblown on alky or gas only)? They were usually wild and badly behaved and entertaining to watch. Many times they match raced with gassers back in the day. Some folks have built, or have some under construction lately.

Will there be Moonlighter T shirts for sale at the Meltdown Drags? I'd love to get one to take back to the UK with me.

Just look for the big Moonlighter tent. I think the Cromers bring all their shirts and posters to each race or car show.
I bought some last weekend at the Knoxville race. They had a good selection of styles, colors, and sizes.

I have been getting a lot of call's about the race at Shady Side this weekend. This will not be a Southeast Gasser race. I'm not sure what all will be there but none of us are going.

GALOT Motorsports Park forgoes 2014 Season [IMG]
After several meetings and much consideration, GALOT Motorsports Park has decided to forego the 2014 racing season. The new motorsports park owner Earl Wells met with track officials and affiliates earlier this week and decided this was not the way he wants the track to make its first impression. Mr. Wells stated that he is committed to giving the racing community the state of the art drag racing facility that he has envisioned from the start. The total redesign of what was formally known as the New Dunn Benson Drag Strip started taking place in late 2013 and after many different setbacks, weather, equipment, and contracting it only makes sense to take a step back and do this the right way the first time and unveil GALOT Motorsports Park in the spring of 2015 "said track general manager Satch Gragg". GALOT Motorsports Park would like to offer our apologies to the racing community for any inconvenience or hardship to anyone. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2015 as we continue to strive for excellence in the total makeover of our GALOT Motorsports Park.

Quain, are you going to add a race or two since Benson won't be open?

Frank we are replacing one of them with the PDRA (formally ADRL) race in Rockingham NC September 6-7. It's a pro mod show but they want to add us as a special feature.

I'm not sure what's going on there. We only do period correct deals don't want to take a knife to a gun fight. There was a dude passing out info on the race and was asked what kind of rules they had and he said just run what you bring. I guess my 1963 vette pro mod would fit in those rules. If I had time I would take it just to see what they would say LOL.

No dumb question I might should have answered different. I would explain in more detail but don't want to high jack the thread anymore than I already have. You can pm me for details.
