I bought this car acouple of months ago. my plain is to build a American graffiti clone. I have a 396 in the machine shop being rebuilt and most of the parts to start on it. I am thinking about the rebel wiring kit to put in it. the only thing I may not put on it is the straight axle. I am looking at tilt front ends and I am looking at unlimited products and scotts rods and custom s products. my chrome reverse wheels are in from summit and I am about ready to radius the rear wheel wells. I am going to run a 265-70 15x8 rims on the back and 15x5 on the front. the fender well headers are next on the list to buy.
I like your plan. Hard to beat a big block/'55 Chevy combination. The last one I built had a + .030 427 and a clutch 400Turbo. Missed the 4spd and converted it back and was offered about double what I had in it so down the road it went. Used the money to buy my first Camaro and never owned another tri-5 Chevy. Frank
Last winter I bought a 55 chevy 2dr post project to build a NHRA. junior stocker clone.Being retired I have the time, but I have come to find out not the money. My wife told me to go out and get another job if I want to do the car.I don't think so,I think I'LL sell it.
AWESOME! Im about to start on my 55 sedan also... Planning a similar build minus the solid axle front... and I have a 584 horse 327... So can I ask you a favor? My floor pans are shot and I need some dimensions of the body so I can build some jigs to hold everything together... haha
