FWIW, the flamed '40 belongs to a HAMBer as well.

soon I hope, trying to thin the heard so I can refocus.
looks like I have the RPU sold, and have had some good interest in the Coupe.

'been planning the next moves, and they all involve finishing, all the major engineering and fabrication is done, just need to git-er-done! :)

  12. I saw your ads for the RPU and coupe. I'm glad to hear that means you're going to be focusing on this one. I'm looking forward to seeing it come together fully. Really cool little roadster.

    new wheels and tires,
tires came a while ago, wheels came today.
this set of tires will go on wires when they show
but in the mean time they will be on this set of steel wheels...
    funny, or maybe not funny-
when I ordered these wheels the picture showed a single bolt pattern like early Ford
nothing in the description said anything about dual pattern
if I had known they were dual pattern I would not have ordered them.
now that I have them, as dissatisfied as I am
I will keep and use them.
'guess that is exactly what they count on..

    oh yeah,
found this old center post Coats 2020 on craigslist for cheap
cleaned up a bit and used it to put the tires on the rims
    works just fine :)

  18. Shame about the wheels Paul, but they do look good.
Will you be using hub caps?

I'm very glad your back on this, as it's my fav 27 by far...everything is just right in my eyes.

    Keep at it mate.

nice update. The metalwork on this car is an inspiration. What are the plans for paint? Sorry if I missed this discussion earlier in the thread.

That's a shame. You could cover up the ugly with a nice set of caps, but that doesn't change the fact that they "just ain't right"

Bitchin' roadster, keep on keepin' on Paul!

plan was to run Cragar caps on wire wheels with these tires,
and use regular street tires with these wheels

but I am really liking the dirt tires on cap-less steel for the "Roaring Roadster" look :)

I'm having a hard time imagining this car with wires, I'll be honest. I'm always more of a steel-wheel guy though, so I'll wait to see what you're cooking up.

  24. The whole car just looks right! My favourite part is the the windsheild, very neat.
Its turning out to be a real nice little hot rod

    Very nice and detailed build!
I know your super busy, but it seems with the change to vs.7 most of your pictures were lost. I find your build to be very useful and wonder if you can get the pictures back.

    Thanks,
    Earl

I guess I could go and relink every one, but I'm hoping Ryan figures it out before that.
there are a lot of very important threads that used links to albums that are experiencing this same result of change.

in the mean time, I know it's not the same, but you can visit my album here: 1927 T Roadster

    Thank you for the link.
Sure hope Ryan figures things out. You are correct in many threads have same issues.

Paul, could you please tell me what your ground clearance is between the bottom of the frame and the ground around the middle of the car?

I am in an early stage and I have like 13.25". No engine or body on yet, but that still seems crazy high. I haven't taken any leaves out of the cheap-o Speedway Model A spring yet and I know it will settle a couple of inches with the engine and everything, but I am just a little spooked here.

my frame to ground clearance is 12", measured right under the center of the door.
I expect it will come down a little when fully loaded but I want this one to sit a bit high.

  30. Any updates? Really dig this lil roadster!!

I think she'll look fantastic on wires with Cragar caps, but I always have liked steelies with Mercury caps!!
