I like the raw vibe it puts out. I have to agree that the plates sort of muck up the looks but it's one of those things that has to be tolerated. Sort of a "good with the bad" element, maybe? At 200 MPH the rear plate must be screaming for mercy more than you, uh, might have? "Devil inside" indeed...
the car has a lot of great detail, some smart features carried out with a craftsman's touch, but that video clip, whilst only a 'blip' of sorts, I want more, that engine is pure hot rod....screw the brakes, they'll only slow you down.... Cheers, Drewfus ;-)
Killer car, though if I were choosing accessories to remove I'd have picked the cowl lights & front license plate.
There's a guy running around my neighborhood in a Model A roadster pickup. It's got a straight rust-free body in primer, no fenders, skinny tires and a complete hood. Seems to be stick shift, and probably a 4 cylinder from a small pickup, definitely not a V8. For all I know it may have an entire Ford Ranger chassis, but it still reminds me of the cars I used to see in the 50's, because HE DRIVES IT LIKE HE STOLE IT! 400 hp and drum brakes, in an 80 year old car with a $10,000 paint job? No, thanks. hans
Ryan, you're ruined now! The '40s and '50s Traditional cars are cool, but there's no way to describe the experience of riding in a '60s style badass hot rod. The sounds, the feel, and especially the smells. It's life-altering. I'm glad you had a chance to enjoy it, and thanks for posting up such a cool car. That car puts the HOT in Hot Rod, and that's the way it should be.
You forget about my '38... The old motor was dyno'ed at over 700hp and ran 119mph in the quarter. And the new y-block is gonna be pretty nasty too. I'm no stranger to power. It sounded pretty good too: All that said though, I'll always be a late 40's styled and flathead kind of guy. Just can't help it.
I was so focused on the front plate I didn't even notice the cowl lamps..........yes, they also need to go.
Very Nice! I got to see it in person...wish I could of heard it. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I love the video of the 34 showing its stuff. Now that is a Hot Rod! Here is another one Keith built in his first shop. The interior was out of school bus leather as I recall and the body I think, was a repo steel one. I never did see the car with a top. I love the look of the model 40 hiboy roadster.
