All black with black wheels and blackwalls...street rodders think it's boring...not enuff flash...some think it's a breathtaking combination...count me in! Post any pics you have of this combo...I'm in the mood to drool ...I'll start...mine's in here somewhere...
That five window is one of my favorite's.. And the all black look, the simplicity of it is perfect.. My last two 'rods were the opposite. No hood's, chrome etc.. I think my 5 window is going to have the same 'theme' to it.. I wish i had pics to post, but mine's nothing more than a rusty pile of parts.. So i'll be checking this post for inspiration myself .
I'm a big fan of that combo, and my f-1 is slowly going in that direction (at night and on weekends). I agree about black showing imperfections. My f-1 is garage built, and the bodywork looks like shit. I guess that's ok as I did it.
well... once you go black... I thinks its refered to as BADASSBLACK PPG code 9300. I love all black cars, its like putting a car in a TUX. Tuck
heres one of mine with blackwalls and another with whitewalls. got a set of steelies in the garage to stick one of the sets of tyres on but not managed to get around to getting them painted yet - they will be painted black with 46 hubcaps.
Here's my Dad's stock 32 "B". Sorry about the wide whites, but thats how he likes it. At least it ain't a trailer queen. Just for giggles I should photoshop it with blackwalls and black ragtop. One of his buddies has a rodded version with dark red "bent-spoke" rims (widened rears) and matching belt-line pinstripe. I really like that look.
Larry, I agree. Triple black can look awesome and I love the look but I've had a black car before and they're a bitch to keep looking good. My ex's car drove me nuts trying to keep it looking clean and I eventually gave up. On the car and the ex. The car was less trouble.
My RPU and 32 had black wheels whith blackwalls. I love the combo but fear it's gonna get way overdone just like red wheels. Clark
Great thread. Black paint is kind of a foundation for a traditional hot rod per my definition. It's basic, subtle, and in some cases down right evil.
Only if you have a '32 judging by all these pics! I don't think it will ever be like the red wheels. It is a look that you either love or hate and is timeless.
This is the theme I am heading towards... except I am thinking about gloss-blacking out a set of 5-slots or torq-d's. Does anyone have any pics of this kind of setup?
I dropped my wheels off at the powder coater last week for the black treatment and have been wondering if it will be too much black with the huge black sidewalls of the dirt track tires but seeing this post I cant wait to get them back and get the tires remounted.
What was it the Henry Ford said about the Model T? You can have any color you want... so long as it is BLACK. Black is sweet, but HAVE to have perfectly straight sheetmetal. And black makes the car a mirror. This thread makes me seriously think about black.
