    Thanks so much!:)

Mikes car was a HUGE part of what got me to go ahead and letter mine up...His turned out a bunch nicer though. It looks like the Brannan car,but it is distinctly the "Mike Car".Its definitely developed its own personna:)

I leave at 5 grand with mine and it hasn't hurt the stock trans, driveshaft or axles yet.

What rpm are you leaving/shifting at Mike?

Launched at 5000 , shifted at 6500 and went through the lights at 7000. Went my best thus far of 12.08 at 114.51. In Bakersfield it was 100+ degrees and it was cooking me in the helmet. 3/4 shift lever retainer spring broke and had to piece it back together with help from a phone call to Roy, plus got a cool new header burn scar on the forearm from messing with shifter linkage while it was hot. My new fiberglass race weight hood bowed in the middle of 1 run around 100mph so bad I thought for sure it was going skyward in a million pieces, I need to reinforce it with some fiberglass underneath. The track was a little slippery on the starting line, with that better air and better shifting I'll be in the 11s! Scott I have 69 351w heads and the circle track cam that came in it when I bought the motor! I have been lucky with it. Like Roy said, I will launch at 6000, shift around 7000 and probably trap around 7200-7500, but I want to get that long shifter installed before the CHHR next month... We will see !

    Mike and Roy:

Those Tubular Automotive headers I got are pretty serious pieces, and are in my opinion just about the best money you could spend without committing to full-on custom fabbed headers.I have yet to check them for fit in the car,as I need to pull the other motor to trim the inner fender wells anyway.

I think my solid flat tappet cam may be the weak link in the hp chain after I get these and some better heads installed.

Scott;WOW,nice looking headers!! I like the way #3 goes forward around the mount,#7 may give you some issues on plug changing for #8 cylinder [mine are similar] and #8 is a pain, have to pull valve cover in order to get at #8 plug!! ROY.

That little motor is pulling pretty good now!:)

If you use that Long shifter it will give you the confidence to really rip the shit outta those shifts without fear of tearing something up or hesitation.
I'd be plenty happy if my little grocery getter would run an et and mph close to that!:)

It idles well because it has a too small cam,too mild of an engine! It is a nice engine, just not built for what Mike is trying to do with it!!If it had stayed a 'STREET' car with carbs it would have been OK!!! ROY.

Or maybe I just got a handle on tuning an injected car Roy! It's been a battle.
    Now for a new shifter.
