Always been fascinated with the Aussie Ute's. Not very easy to come by here in the States so I fed off the concept and designed what I thought a 56 Chevy might have looked like. Several years ago I also did a 37 Chevy truck as a kingcab.
This is my 1937 Chev Master Deluxe Assembled in Adelaide Australia, Holden body, 3 on the floor 216 stovebolt motor, a complete survivor Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I think it's safe to say that the Utes and Slopers are probably the most definitive Australian bodies, especially for the pre 64 crowd. Although I am not a fan of the Ford Spinner Utes, I will take a nice Mainline Ute from 56/57. Missing the odd purchase of a 40 or 46 Ford Ute as well. I do have a 32 Aussie Tub that is the next in line to be built. After the Mainline came the Zephry series, which were English Fords. After that came the birth of the Falcon in Australia. Zephyr Spinner Ute Mainline
Yes it resides in Australia now but was an import from South America. I have seen the car and it looks good.
Snuck the last one in cause 41-46 cabs made by Holden with different doors and swage mouldings This is a good thread Rod
She kinda died off for a while but it's picking up now. Here's a mainline ute my great uncle just picked up. sent via classroom note. pass it on
Whilst this isn't a sloper or ute it is an Oz variation.....built by TJ Richards in Adelaide my Oz 1940 Dodge D15D series is a bitsa......1940 Plymouth chassis/wheelbase, Richards body shell similar but different to USA bodies in the window openings, trunk lid & surrounding shape, 2 piece rear window against the USA 1 piece, Plymouth fenders, hood, bumpers(2 piece rear bumpers are by me...long story), head& taillights with 1940 Dodge Grille(fastened from the inside against USA grilles being attached from the outside due to US cars not having any access due to their short, Dodge based hoods), badges and emblems with RHD Dodge dash.........overall sorta like what the Canadians had....a plodge.........lol.......andyd
Wartime. '41 Pontiac for North Africa. Woodville Holden? Those ute bed sides are masonite I seem to recall. Desperate times..
Our coupe is still getting used today to do the same job! This time an old channelled Aussie 34 coupe
Oneone was a racehorse, twotwo was one too, oneone won one race, twotwo won one too. But that's beside the point.
