Projects YAWN.....YET ANOTHER BARN FIND DEUCE TUDOR (UPDATE 3 APR 2019)

But this time it's mine!
Finally snagged one (after selling my 55 pickup).

Earlier patch panels in it, solid floor, filled top, 59AB, with 37 trans and rear. Very nice grille, shell, hood, all garnish moldings, perfect doors, tank, vent, dash, all three seats, firewall. Decent front fenders,
Already found some rears.
Stock box and column.
Already have a 32 radiator .

Missing one bumper, headlight bar, gl***. hood latches, board covers, fender braces.




Hopefully the flattie will run (not stuck). Needs some early Ford hydraulics, dropped axle, fuel lines, steelies and steering.

OK what's the story behind it all? You've shown us the pics, now the story.

 

Very nice start you have.

 

The car belonged to an older gentleman in Culleoka, TN, who p***ed away. A friend of mine bought it at the estate sale, sold the fenders off, and p***ed it on to me.

The frame is original, with ***le, but has been boxed in the front,, with what looks like an aftermarket 32 front crossmember, welded in(!!!). It has a 37(considering the ******?) X-member welded in, but has remnants of some square tube pieces cut from small boxing plates. Engine is complete, with wiring, carb, fuel pump, distributor, turns over.

Floor is virtually rust free, save some on the lf cowl mount.

I'll post some more pics after I get it cleaned out, if anyone's interested.

Why not do something different?
Build with what you already have.
No fenders? don't need em.
drop the front axle, reverse the rear spring.
Juice brakes. Add some bigs and littles.
get it to run and drive.
Leave the body as it is.
have a beater 32!
Almost nobody does that anymore!

 

Sedans are nice, especially Deuces.

 

@Tony, that's pretty much the plan for starters. But i do have a set of fenders.

 

Congrats! God I hope all the Duece Tudors aren't snagged up before I start my next build, I'm so jealous!

Nice Tudor, great story and I'm positive everyone would like to see more pics when you've cleaned it up. And I gather that you're going with fenders which is good cos I love fendered 32's even though I'm currently building a 32-5w hi-boy for the wife. She reckons real hot rods don't have fenders!

 

Love that picture of it snugly tucked away in the barn, cl***ic. Looking forward to seeing some pictures when she's up and running again.

Thanks! Yours is one of the prime motivators for fenders, but I got a thing for highboys , too.. Like Sam's (thequietwon) coupe. Decisions, decisions.

 

There is no wrong way to build a Deuce as long as you adhere to the traditional styles..I too love Sam's coupe! HRP
