Well the 5th year of the run is in the books and it was the best one yet. The weather was perfect, the location was great and the turnout was awesome. Huge thanks to Sam and Chris Lytle as well as the crew at the Monitor Hot Rod Cafe where the run ended. They welcomed us and made sure we had what we needed. If they will have us again we will do it next year. The East side won with 54 flathead cars, west side had 28...but at one time I counted 119 cars out on the grass...not even including the OHV cars in the parking lot. All in all a great year. We had guys DRIVE in from Montana, Sacramento, CA, Edmonton and Calgary Canada and many other distance places. My friend Paul Garland drove up all the way to Spokane from Sacramento just to do the run, logging 2000 miles on his beautiful chopped 48 Ford coupe. Has a pretty stock engine, trans, rear end and brakes. He had zero issues. We chose his car to put on the shirts this year. Thanks to EVERYONE who bought a T-shirt, that is the only funding we have for the run. The more we sell, the better the run. So all in all THANK YOU to all that came. I'm always open to suggestions on how to make it better. Gonna try hard to get a swap meet area next year. Leaving my house Friday night (so we could get set up) We stayed in Leavenworth WA at an old Motel The show:
The drive home. @JeffreyJames flew all the way in and drove my 33 pickup My buddy Lee @Jalopy Kid from Canada broke the pinion coupler in his 40 rear end under his AV8. My brother towed it to the nearest town (Douglas WA) and it got towed back to Spokane. Lee drove this down, so he spent the last couple days getting another rear end under it as it destroyed the pinion shaft.
Thanks Chris, the rest of the Emps & others who helped put it on. We enjoyed all the eye candy & had a great time.
Chris , You guys really did it this year! Excellent show and the quality and variety of cars was the best yet. Thanks again and I look forward to next years run! Now are ya going to come over to the Swindlers Poker Run this Saturday?
How great to see such a collection of fine cars in one spot. I'll be spending some time checking out the details of these automobiles. Thanks for posting it.
I love Leavenworth! I have a picture of my '48 Plymouth in the same parking space at the same Hotel as the deuce five window from about eight years ago when I was up there working.
That's a great bunch of photos. We had a great time even if we don't have one of the flattheads running yet. I think everyone that I talked to there had a great time and really liked the location. Here's the link to my photos from the show. http://s173.photobucket.com/user/mr...mperors Flathead run Monitor WA?sort=2&page=1
Nice chatting with you Chris, even if it was brief. It sounds like everything went as planned... AWESOME! This was by far my favorite one yet! One of the best days ever for me... first drive in my roadster, the best flathead run yet, and I also got to be part of my great friend/employer/hot rodder T_Wood_08's wedding! Couldn't get much better. Thanks Chris and all Thee Inland Emperors
Thanks to you and your Dad Sam, and everyone else involed. I think the run was the best yet as well. Hope next years is even better! NIce BSing with you, your Dad and Tanner. It was a busy day for me and I just didn't have a lot of down time. Hope to see you all soon! I'm in debt to your dad now

Chris, What a great looking event with some "over the top" cars! I grew up in Wenatchee as a kid and currently live in Florida. I come back out every year and dig my 29 roadster out of moth balls.....so, I am wondering what are the dates. reg. time etc etc of the event. I would love to attend. Cheers, David D
