Thx! The magneto works AWSOME! burns more fuel, sounds meaner and just looks cool! alitle higher ideling rpm tho Cant whait to get the block im putting that head on! also need to order some more parts for that build
Got some new parts for the engine! A sidemounted magneto setup to help me with the ignition truble with the OHV head! Homemade ofcourse back in the day! And a C head! (needs somthing to run while the OHV is beeing built, right? )
Cool build! What does the plague say? Pøbel? What kind of head is this? A litle more info on it, and especialy on whats gonna go below the head? Except for the second magneto. ;-)
The Plauge says ''Pøbel Rodders'' = ''Hooligan Rodders'' The head is a 1930's C head from a generator, 4,6:1 in compresion, gonna mill it to about 5:1 The C head is going on my tourer motor with a touring cam, holley 94 and this head + the vertex. The other mag is going on a B block with a Chevy OHV convertion!
I'm seeing and understanding the purpose of the C head. ;-) But the OHV conversion is what baffles me. How, what and from where? Put on how, and running what kind of cam? Tell more or send a Link so I can read up on this. And again, I like your simple little build. And simple is an complyment, because less is more! And your's is bare boned, and bad to the bone! B-) Pøbel in Danish is what Rich and powerfull people calls commen/blue collar people. But I do like the fact that it's ised about hot rodders, becaus hot rods is the only racecars we workes ever can afford! And wants B-)
I've been thinking about doing a 4-banger at some point: running milled iron head, vw 009 bosch distributor, Volvo b30 dual strombergs, tubular runner/exhaust manifolds and an M400 behind a model A/B banger block. But haven't found the right mill at the right price. But I love the get it going/running, and then build the rest afterwards. Thru pre-war mentality, and thake the next step when you find the parts you want.
My Chevy head is a 1928 chevy 4 head, the last 4 chevy built, before the 6's came. its not ideal, but its old and i like it it has to be fittet with an adapter plate (witch i do not have yet, working on making one) and the cam will be a secret grind Here you see the head im going to run the rockers,, And here is a picture of a random adapterplate and a chevy on a model a block:
I did to, now but only because you bought up the whole deal up by posting your pictures. I'm getting creaving to build a model A banger. So Thank you very much for giving me silly ideers. LOL. There is some Info on this conversion on the World Wide Web, abd a good treat on the HAMB. ;-)
WOW just found your build! Looks Awesome and with an OHV it will be killer. Looking forward to more. Thanks!
hehe! good to hear im not the only one digging my car Just got the rockers in the mail aswell! The internett is a fabulus place for parts hunting..
Of course you ain't the only one! By fare!! The internet is made for parts hunting, HAMB and one hand reading. If you dont get the last part, it's because you dont want to know!
It was the best fun iwe had sitting still in a loong while! hehe Thx for that it came out really nice!
winter is coming over here.. so not that much in the air now but they are going to get some air flowing tomorow
