I checked with them and wasn't anywhere near my budget. I was looking at the Lexan at Lowes and gut out the front and rear regulators and stock side glass.

  2. That should get more than half of your 100 lbs. back from the roll bar

Plexiglass. Or, the modern acrylic, Optix. About half the cost of polycarbonate, and there's probably half a dozen reasons why you shouldn't use it. But it is a bit more period

  4. I got the polycarbonate for my FED at a place SW of Milwaukee that sells drops and scraps. It was so cheap I had to ask the guy to repeat the price to me just to be sure I heard it right! PM me if you want contact info.

  5. Lodging reservations now is a great idea.

There's one more thing that everyone needs to do, and that is PRE-REGISTER in early 2015. Don't forget, mark it down on your important calendar.

  6. Peer pressure?

Maybe the Rude Stewed liked the company it was with?

  7. How does sleeping at the track work? Too hot? Showers anywhere?

  10. If you are from Georgia, the typical hot & humid Meltdown Drags weather will make you feel right at home, LOL :D

  11. Tim camped at the track this year he said it was too damn cold. Had to buy an extra shirt :( He kept saying "Yesterday's Turd this and Yesterday's Turd that" shirt must be a misprint - looks like Chili from here.

(Stole the Chili from the 2014 thread :D )

  12. Nice shirt Dog Snatch!, at least someone in your crew has some class.
He must be a very wise man, maybe he can talk some sense into you? I thought the weather was fine, and from what I heard, much cooler than last year
You have to take Scotty McPowershifter's weather report with a grain of salt, he lives in Santa Clause Village where its probably 90 below 0 already, he's busting out the sunblock when its 35 out. Better watch out jack'n with The Child's name, that crusty ole lady don't take kindly to it, she'll just rare up & fill your windshield with clutch dust, & old lacquer paint chips that fall off her when we smack her on the ass and yell giddy up!

    Kip,
That is a great pic.I have some photos of a similar car under construction that I will have to post up sometime.
I have thought of combining some of my mish mash of parts into some type of funny car with a cooling system so I can still drive it to Sam's on Friday night!:)

That Aladdin Chevy II short wheelbase "Funny Car" (that's what they called it in the magazine article from '68,don't shoot the messenger),had an injected 427 and still ran a small stock radiator.
I think I could talk my Dad into building one of those pretty easily...;)

  15. Hey Dog Flatch, I changed my Avatar so you can get used to this end of the '56. This way it won't be such a shock to your senses, when you get the sweat taken out of you by "the lady in red". :)

I've always been a fan of the Steve Bovan Blairs speed shop Chevy II and the Malfunction Chevy II.

  27. He bought the car with it, and best we know is that it is a basic performance rebuild. .030 over 9.1 Ross ( I worked there 6 years) the shelf blower pistons, stock rods w/ARP bolts, stock crank, studed stock main caps, Isky 505 flat tappet, un-ported heads with stainless valves & Isky hardware. Hot Heads blower manifold, valve covers, valley cover, Dyers 6-71 @ 1-1, 2 x 750 double pumpers, & MSD dizzy & Milodon pan. Its got a Richmond Super T10/McCleod Street Twin & 9" w/4.11's. Its pretty basic but sounds and runs pretty fricken good.
