Vintage shots from days gone by!

I'm callin' this one Australian. It looks like a SA plate to me, it's parked on the 'correct side' of the road and the houses look very much like a 50's Oz housing estate.
('course, I've been wrong before, so there is a good chance I am this time too, but................................................)

The caption of 1916 on the Wasp photo posted by swi66 is erroneous. Wasps were made between 1919 and 1924. Only 18 were made.
Are there any survivors other than the one in the Bennington Museum? It is possible that one of the people in the photo is either the son or grandson of the designer Karl H. Martin.

I known I'm way behind, but I just wanted to point out that early in the war Devastators were used in combat and actually instrumental in turning the tide of the whole war in the Pacific.

The first and best-known combat mission came during the Battle of Midway on 4 June 1942. Flying the obsolete Douglas TBD Devastators, Commander John C. Waldron's 15 planes were all shot down during their unescorted torpedo attack on Japanese aircraft carriers. The squadron did not destroy any enemy aircraft with their defensive rear .30-caliber machine guns, nor did they damage any of the Japanese carriers.

The suicide runs by the low flying torpedo planes, however, drew all the Japanese fighters down on them, leaving the dive bomber squadron arriving a few minutes later totally free to attack the Japanese carriers and resulting in the complete destruction of the Japanese carriers. Ending the ability of the Japanese fleet to continue expanding the Pacific war.

Still chokes me up the bravery and sacrifice of those 30 men. That is all

One of the first AMC model kits I ever put together. I still have it some 40 years later along with my 57 Fairlane 500 hardtop and 66 charger 426 fastback. 59/60's are bucket list cars for sure.
