Went to a car show in Elkhorn WI today...cold, rainy, windy, and generally crappy, but always like taking my car to shows, as well as looking at the cars....
Lots of nice stuff, pretty much the usual.....however one car did really jump out at me.
    This '56 Chevy Handyman Wagon...
Took me a while to figure out what was different about it, and finally another guy told me.
He removed the front vent windows from the doors....
I kinda liked it...what do you think ?

    Handymans are way cool.
The vent window is something I love about old cars.
The delete kit is street rodder stuff IMO
windy day at a car show beats working any day!

Nothing better to move air thru your cabin that's for certain.......barring a big ass hole in your floorboard that is.

Car looks pretty good but I prefer the vent windows...I can live sans the vent windows but the hi back buckets are just wrong. HRP

Vent windows and 65 mph = my AC!
Summer just wouldn't be the same without them.

I like the look without them. Visually lengthens the window opening. But I love vent windows.

Hey Bob:) Looks like a cool show. Thats a nice 56 but I feel its too much of one color. Needs an accent. Any pics of the blue Willys ? JW :D

It's one of those things I like to like at, but dont wanna own. Regarting the Windows.
Dont like the buckets at all.

Is there any pictures from the row in the back ground?

Totally agree on the buckets....also personally did not care for the paint. It had ghost flames one it..
Here are a few more HAMB qualifying cars that I took pictures of. And JW ... I will go back into my camera and see of I took any of that row.. :)

Looks like a flash back to the eighties. Did you see Marty Macfly walking round there, or a Delorean?

Visually, and actually lengthens the opening.:D I'm another vent window lover. It's how I stay comfortable in my 56 during the Kansas summers.

I might as well throw a wrench in the gearworks. It also does't have the paint divider on the short, 150 style spear behind the doors that a Wagon would have. The windowed Sedan Deliveries were made this way; is this a windowed Delivery, or a 150, Handyman Wagon? Need a tailgate/lift gate shot. I am Butchy/56sedandelivery.

Hey guys, can't answer all your questions.....just posted this because I personally liked the window treatment.
A good friend of the owners told me that it was an authentic Handyman Chevy, and seemed to know what he was talking about......obviously there have been several changes made, including electric windows.....so that is all I can say... :)
