Not exactly, but I would guess that it was in the Ind. Ohio area though. The cut down doors, like in the background car, was pretty typical in those parts. There were a bunch of ( short lived now long gone) tracks running roadsters post war all across the country back then.

The track is the "Shady Bowl" in DeGraff, OH. It was sort of a home track to the Triangle Racing Association. There have been several images posted over time of this scene-with slightly different angles/background. The baffling thing to me is that the car looks very much like Del Baxter's which was a California car usually driven by Troy Ruttman. 'Can't imagine what that car would have been doing at DeGraff.

Back again. The Louisiana online archive has been a real treasure trove with tons of car-related photos, so I cherry-picked another hundred or so good ones. And away we go...
This is the Gayle Building which housed a dealership in Lake Charles, dated 1940:

And in 1950, it inadvertently became an Esso station...

Remember the Buick dealer from my last mass posting? This is from a few years earlier:

...and remember their '57 Special eight-door courtesy limo? This is their earlier one:

And by '61 it became a Chevy dealer.

Part 5, and finally a Corvair for swi66:

Wait a minute - what's that wagon? Zoom in once more:
Of all things to find in the USA, let alone Louisiana, it's a 1959(?) Simca Vedette Marly ("Marly" was the designator for station wagon). Powered by the old Ford V8-60, and almost never seen in this country. Any French HAMBers here who can verify the year? I've only found one other shot online of a wagon with these taillights.

This last one's my favorite, despite the quality - Sharknose Grahams at a dealer which sold three other makes that were already dead - and Graham would soon be gone as well. At least they had REO to fall back on for a while...

    Thank you!
Funny thing is I never realized how small the Willys really was until I saw it parked in front of that Chevy.
