Definitely a bumper jack of sorts. Probably at the least, same for a variety of different years too. Where's the 1940 Ford mafia when ya' need 'em ? Won't be long I'm sure........

put "1940 ford bumper jack" in the ***le to catch the attention of anyone who may know. I click on anything with 49-52 Chevrolet in the ***le, I'm sure 40 Ford people do the same thing.

  5. Even if it is, I sure wouldn't use it on my '40 (even if I had one).

The up/down lever looks wrong, and it looks like the socket for handle is round on that one...if I remember I can look in the '40 resto book tonight.
Bumper jacks, though , are handy on '40's Fords because on many models the tires are bigger than the opening in rear fender.

Hah! Don't need to go home...they have ELECTRIC PICTURES on the Interweb now!

Two suppliers, much the same. Flat handle sockets to take the Ford tire iron, Ford did not use the long round type lug wrenches back then. Yours is likely from same supplier, but from some kind of Nonford.

ps are both thse "jacks"above round stalk ones....[upright pieces] can't tell.

I'd guess it is an OEM jack from something real close to 1940...that doesn't set off a furor like a Ford piece, but if it can be identified it becomes valuable to the poor soul working on a '40 Pontiac or whatever...
