Hi I have a 34 roadster pickup 347 was made Wounder to sel But what is the price in usa for a 34 roadster pickup in good condit
How about a side shot and a little more detail on the windshield frame and dash? Be sure to post them on fordbarn.com also. Charlie Stephens
I have all the orginal parts. Now it has a chopped windshild,32 chrysler dash, riley two port head,2 stk stromberg 81
Without more details, I'm guessing that's a $40,000 car here in the US. If it's extra detailed, could be more. The body style is so rare that many guys don't even know about them, and many guys wouldn't care. There are a few of us that appreciate the 32-34 RPU's. but we are an exclusive group.
I believe us Ozzies did them however the ones I've seen had p***enger car front sheet metal not PU front panels. Model # and identification would establish bonafides and providence. Here's an Ozzie version however a roadster utility as sheet metal is part of body and not separate. Googled and this is what I found. They exist! http://www.acmoi.com/cars.html, http://www.spudsgarage.com/vehicles/34FordBL/ Only 99 V8 USA models produced for 1934.
I've seen the red one with the cream wires pictured above in person. It is (was?) owned by the Ch***is Engineering guy. Supposedly it was a US car that was later taken to England and converted to RHD. Then brought back and restored, with LHD. It's a very nice truck.
Nice pick up. Looks more like a 32 than a 34 though. Is ch***is a 32 or 34 ? Guards look like 32 as do other parts of it. Just curious?
I am curious. What details are you looking at that make you think it is a '32? What does "guards" translate to in American English? Charlie Stephens
Guards are what you probably refer to as fenders. Sometimes I forget the different terms for different parts of the globe. Usually in my posts I try to incorporate both terms. My apologies.
Thanks. I thought that there was a reveal on side rails of ch***is. Guards/fenders still look like 32 to me. Grill bonnet/ hood looks like '34 . Cowl body looked like 32, to me. I know that a lot of commercial vehicles were often made in later years using previous years parts, then registered for year of manufacture and called by the year of registration. Happened in commonwealth countries. Happened here, but some may disagree.
The Australian versions were probably made from knockdowns, as they also did Chevs. Chev ones were only made in Australia, none made in the USA. (Separate body and deck) The 34 Aus Fords were also a one piece body, (first Ute) and i believe maybe Waddington Street Rods may be making modern steel version.
The '32 and '33/34 parts are very similar and can be tough (if not impossible) to discern in poorly lit or focused photos. The '33/34 open cab is the same, with exception of the firewall, firewall reinforcements, seat riser, and forward bit of the subfloor, as a '32. I suppose one could argue the dash, as well, although that's not an integral part of the body. All of the US-bodied open cab pickups shown in this thread are '33/34s. Given that the black RPU has a '33/34 bed and is on a '33/34 frame, it'd have to have the corresponding '33/34 fenders, '34 hood, and '34 grille. Its firewall is also '33/34, so it'd be pretty safe to say it's a '34 (or a '33 with a '34 hood/grille).
Here's a local Ozzie RPU, imported LHD from US a few years ago. I can't find any front end shots however it gets driven
