Anybody know this custom/prototype '66 Big Pontiac or any history/origin on this photo?

Dad and his 51 back around 1957. He restored the wood using broken beer bottles to scrape off the old finish. The car turned out to be unreliable and with limited finances at the time caused him to decide to sell. He then bought a 52 Jag with a bad timing chain problem for cheap. Fixed it and moved from LA to Jersey crossing the country with the Jag. It had factory tinted windows which were illegal in Jersey at the time so it too was sold. That's two cars I missed out on!

I have never been to this sight before, thanks for posting it. I have seen some of these pictures but not all of them. I found one that I am really intrigued with. Any idea what the tube on the hood of this one is?

I believe those wheels where the ones Halibrand made for Studebaker. They were available from the factory as an option. I have seen recently that a company is reproducing wheels that look like these.
