Event Coverage What are YOU doing to get ready for the 2015 Meltdown Drags?

I am sure my boat will be using one for an anchor.

 

We are trying to get another car together this year to run in the Hot Rod class. My wagon will be running in the stock class again probably without any changes. Hopefully Dad's 55 Chevy with Solid Lifter 327 and T10 will be done to run in the Hot Rod Class. Hopefully low 13's. I know it is not much, but we have more fun doing this than racing our 10 second non meltdown friendly cars. We found some pie crust slicks at a swap meet a few weeks ago for the 55.

 

So after talking to my dad about this falcon project, it will be as close to the south east gasser rule book as we can get. Will be white and blue metal flake inside the body line. But here's the thing I don't like, we are going to use the built 460 we have just to save some money and also use a the built auto tranny that we have.... He says we will change it to a 4 gear once we get used to how it handles :/ oh well at least we are building one lol
Did a photo shop of a car I found on Google, that's how I would like the car to sit, different wheels on ours though, I'm thinking aluminum slots and steelies.

You know its kinda funny all the money we throw at these Fords and Mopars to make them run as fast as a stock Chevy.

You need to build an MGA Altered, with International running gear!, then no one will jack with you, cause bruthas are scaret of crazy white honkies!

By the way Jeph, i figured out were my sub par 10.95 came from, it involves a loosening secondary linkage plate on the carb, that relegated my pass to much less than full throttle. I'm saving a special kind of pain for you & The Turkey Jerky, so ya better get American Pickers to hunt you up some Jato rockets! That way you'll at least be close enough to see me wave bye bye when I loose The Childs wrath on yo ass!

That's the plan Scott I hope to get it to the track before the end of the month if the weather will holds.
This car has been on my mind ever since my first pass in it but have not had a chance to get back under the hood.
It well be at the Meltdown.

If you could coax 12's out of the Dodge that was built on the Island of Misfit Toys,you should be able to do some REALLY scary things with that 409 if you get a little time to get a feel for what she wants and needs...

I'm drunk on horsepower up here Brother!

I finally decided to stop trying to use a piece of equipment That was really going to hurt performance,jut because I'm a cheap bastard,and I already had the part.
Of course it's a slippery slope,and I'm going to need to upgrade a couple associated items to make it work,but I'm short,I'm a really happy guy

Now I just have one question for all you guys planning to attend the Meltdown this year:

How do you like your "Okie Doker" prepared...?

Cause once I fire up the new and improved "Okie Doker Smoker",things might get a little carried away.....My apologies in advance if the only cuts available are "Well Done","Burned to a Freakin Crisp",and my personal favorite "Car-Mageddon"....lol
