Thanks guys. Today I'm cleaning, smoothing down the welds, body work, and getting ready to paint the frame on Monday.
I've done a few hot rods in the past but not one that can be explained as channeled, sectioned, dropped, chopped, raked, converted, suicide front, shorten frame, truck, roadster, and TRADITINAL all in one sentence. The next one down the road may have the word woody in it ;)

I may not have it ready for the Turkey Rod Run by the end of November, all depending on time now as I have to wire up a '68 Shelby and flare a pair of quarters on a '62 hot rod vette in November. Still having fun though!

The frame is now painted, and tomorrow I will be cleaning and painting the suspension components. I will work on the channeling reinforcement metal brackets for the floors as well for the body.

I'm really thinking of doing a custom wood floor in the cab to match the bed with a 50's style Chris Craft boat woodwork flare. My idea is a nice dark antiqued stained wood with some custom pin striping lines, then cleared. With the maroon body and dark/medium full grain chromed and aniline tanned leather will look really good and unique.

Channeled the body 3/4" more in front. Sitting just right and great leg room!

Dropped the flathead and trans in today for some mock up. The motor and trans will be brought up 2" with fabricated brackets and right now the body is sitting on the bell housing and will be cut and lowered. the body will be brought forward about 2 1/2" and the suspension will go down 2" from what can be seen in photos.

The grill will be centered to the wheel and tire.

Today I'm finally working on the channeled cab floor and trans. tunnel.
This is a nice setup for the floors and kind of what I was thinking of doing. The trans tunnel will be much smaller in my build.

Still working on the floors of the cab and made a transmission bracket today.
Here's a night time profile shot with the grill before being sectioned.

I made a bracket for the Rad and I think I have the grill where I want it.
The donation container is for the Eddie Myer slingshot intake on the wish list for friends to chip in for LOL! I will loose the heater on the fire wall soon.

Some pretty trick stuff in this build Todd, nice job.

I was wondering what that Tupperware on the engine was.thought is was a height mock up or something. Lol

That too.... LOL! The Eddie Myer sling shot is 16" from the base with that type of air cleaner, and the crude mock up is 17 1/2" so I need to come up with an one and a half inch spacer to get that height.

I stripped the wide five wheels down to bare metal primed and mixed up some lacquer paint. No one in town wanted to mount the tires and tubes, so I went old school and did it myself. The center link will need to be bent to clear the front spring. By Wednesday it will finally be a rolling ch***is. I would be father along if I wasn't working on other projects and being a car show event coordinator as well. The next big show is at the grand opening Artegon in Orlando fl. with an indoor judged car show.

You mentioned sectioning the grill, I guess you mean in height Any thoughts of maybe taking some of the "depth" out of it. Tim

I changed my mind on making it shorter, I may narrow the depth, not sure yet. I do plan on cutting away the lower part and give it a tear drop shape at the bottom and kicked out a little to match the cab rake..

What the heck are ya talking about? Tal*** powder is for babies. How does tal*** powder have anything to do with the build?

LMAO! Back in the day we used to put tal*** powder in the tires to allow the tubes to "slip" and not bind up, fold over or tear. If you have ever pulled an old tire apart and found a white substance in there chances are it was installed with talc. Makes a big difference! And it doesn't smell too bad either.:D

I got it now. No tal*** powder here, just a little liquid soap to get it over the rims.

I got swamped with work, repairing, flaring, and painting a 1962 Corvette, 1946 Ford full leather custom upholstery job, I had to put this project on hold till after Christmas. The good news I'll have a little more de-niro for the build.
