This winter I am going to re do the body on my '63 Biscayne... Most likely will use the same color scheme, as I really like it........But I always seem to like an old fashion Cream and Dark Brown (or Root Beer) color scheme. In my case I would go with the cream on the top, and the balance the Brown.. Anyone have any pictures of cars with that color combo? Don't have to be Chevy's...just looking for colors to think about. Here is one I have seen and kinda like. Thanks much, Bob
On edit...I had the colors backwards.. I would go Cream on the bottom and Brown on the top... Anybody ?????
http://www.autocolorlibrary.com look at about 1974 and you'll find all the brown you can handle. Don't have any specific recommendations, you could get pretty creative with pearl in a root beer brown.
Not feelin the brown top and cream lower,( I may get fooled if I saw it) I do like these solids tho, not sure what you actually call that cream,beige color on the 4 door 63 but I think its a factory color and I think it looks pretty good on there.
Heres a 60 with the paint break at the top of the fenders and the top paint is a little more orange than brown but???
What was the original color by the way? ....and wheres everybody at? Theres usually sevral replies to help choose paint colors.
Appreciate the pictures.. My Biscayne was originally a lighter blue..... Not really sure what to do, as I agree it takes a certain kind of car to handle that brown/cream color... Kinda wondering now about maybe leaving to top black and going with a cream on the bottom...would not be that much of a change...also I am far from a pro, so need to keep colors that do NOT show my lack of skills on body work. Probably should just re do it as it, cause I really like it now...
metallic brown can be a challenge to lay down without some streaking, etc if you are not used to dealing with metallics. maybe expand the black by using it on roof & hood or, black across hood/trunk and stopping at top of fenders. then add pinstripes at line break
Personally I think it would look better with the darker brown on the bottom & light colored roof. But the black bumpers would have to be chromed. Hey you asked for opinions.
Somebody on here a few years ago had a flat or satin orange 63 4 door with a flat/satin white top and either chrome torq thrust or supremes that I thought looked very cool. I think a flat orange (as light as posssible but close to hugger orange)would help hide imperfections and would look pretty cool if your whole car were painted that color. Heres the closest thing I could find in the realm of what you might like and the orange that Im promoting Its not flat tho. Anyone else remember the flat orange 4 door 63? I brought it up once before and found the owner I need to save a pic of it.
I've noticed that lately a lot of the manufactures are making a resurgence with the brown colors. May want to look into those.

Color is such a personal choice. Having this same fight with my 56 vic.I 'm not looking after black again , that's for sure.
I found this color combo on the internet...I believe it belongs (or did) to a HAMB member.. Kinda like it too.....just would expand on my current colors...
Hey, that's MY old '64...found it on the internet, eh...??? That green color is a stock '64 color, can't remember the name of it tho...I just redid the body (it was an Ohio car) and painted it two tone to make it different...here's another pic of it. It was a great car and I sold it local, but don't know where it ended up. R-
