My 1966 Chevy "Custom Camper" C20 with 34,xxx miles, original paint, interior, drivetrain, etc. The Custom Camper option package was new in late-65 and relatively few were built in this body style. 1966 was the last year of this body but the first full year of production for the 327 ("Hi Torque") V8 and TH400 auto trans in pickups (3/4 tons only). This truck has both along with the deluxe interior and appearance packages.

Camper trucks were somewhat unusual because they were typically used for recreation for the whole family, not strictly for work like most other trucks. That's why they sometimes had more chrome and other creature comforts not commonly seen on 60s-era pickups.

sjrodder, Is that a stock tailgate with the three hinges? I don't recall seeing one like that. Nice fab work if it was custom made. I like little touches like that.

My '54, that I recently dragged home from Dad's basement, November 1. Since it's relocation, I have swapped the rear end, rebuilt the rear springs, got the brakes working, rebuilt the carb. This weekend, I am hoping to get the new fuel pump in it and take it for a spin around the block.

I did dump some gas into the carb, and got it to fire, last Friday. It ran quite a bit longer when I filled the fuel bowl in the carb.
