Hey guys, I am searching for a paint code for 57 Pontiac Limefire green. I have found a few old codes but so far the paint shop says they are no good. Does anyone have a current color code they know works? I know this is kind of an oddball one year color but I gotta have it!

These are the one's I have tried already

    Ditzler 42060
    Dupont 2454L, 882-56428L

***** If by some chance someone has a part painted in this color I would be willing to pay $$ to ship it to me and have it scanned. and return it to you.

This is the color in all it's glory

I think it matches up with a Ford color from the 70's... I can talk to my body guy and see if he has it on file. My front clip got re-painted and it matched what he did originally perfectly. I may even have the test pieces he did for me.... Let me do some digging.

Do the TPCGlobal thing. Find the color here: http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1957-Pontiac-pg01.jpg

Order a qt of base and get it home, take it to your jobber and have the quantity you need made in the paint of choice, but for this one I'd recommend BC/CC. If the color comes out with a poly that seems to big your jobber can substitute a fine poly which would be era correct. Good luck. I've done this same thing for years, find the color there, order some, make it here. I also feel like I'm paying for the info this way, but not the web site info. The mix info will be on the back of the label.

Check with Jay Ward(Jive Bomber). That's the color he has on his 57 Safari.

Thanks! Kind of an expensive way to do it but at least I know it is an option.

I found a site where I can get a rattle can of it. I suppose I could do that, spray a panel and have it scanned

    Flat Foot,
I was wondering if you did find the correct code for your "Limefire" poly? Would you share the code? Thanks, John

  12. Good evening, that's a beautiful colour. @Flat-Foot : I did a search of your PPG number, but couldn't find anything. Can you help me with the name and year of the volvo color, so we could check, if it's available here in Germany for my buddies 61 Biscayne, which getting a frame-off resto at the moment.
Greetings from the Black Forest in Southwest Germany Carsten

I wonder if anyone ever followed up and got a valid code for those of us needing this paint. I've got a 57 Catalina hardtop survivor that I yanked out of a barn a few years ago (fresh motor then parked) that was shot in turd brown primer.
