  11. people should stop their pissing and moaning and just appreciate the time, effort, and thought that he is putting forth. for a guy with limited tools, and great ambition, he is doing very well

I read through all 15 pages last night before I posted, and I have to say your creativity and the ability to see what you are making in the parts you have are damn near borderline genius! And that is from a "recovering" VW (one day at a time... Just got my 20 year chip, and still resisting dragging home more German junk!) kinda guy who has also been a life long early Ford guy.

    Only borderline?
Seriously, thanks for your kind words. When you take a good look at it, the Beetle has lots of interesting shapes and curves, it was just a matter of rearranging them into what I wanted.

  15. Great tread and I have been following from the start. Your skills and vision are 2nd to none. One other shape from a VW (the roof) can be used to re-skin a Willys coupe trunk lid. JW:)

English Gent, you are far too modest, this project is amazing.

Simon, I am very impressed with your shear determination and drive to see this project through!
Let the naysayers say what they will, most could never even see what you saw in the VW body, yet be able to do what you are doing!
    Cheers

  23. It takes a real artist to see an early 30s roadster in an old VW. I'll bet the guys over on the traditional SoCal Look VW forum poop out bricks when they see someone cutting up an old Bug like this.

  25. I can see 2 VWs together but don't know what to call it. It's not a V8 .

My neighbor has a Anglia on a VW floor pan drive train. Neat car

Very interesting . I can't wait to see more !

  27. Of course, Nailhead Terry says Rover........POW !! Outa' the park baby !!

I've looked at a lot of those forums....nothing like a stroked out aluminum Buick V8 rebadged as English....huh Terry ? Good call man. I would so definitely ! I like different.....and that's about as different you can get aluminum wise....without Donovan or Rodeck stamped on its side.

What's max displacement on those ? 281 cubic inches or higher ? D & D Fabrications builds some wild ones.

There's a green '32 that ventures out to the GoodGuys show here and there with a real deal 215 Buick V8.....stick. It's frekn' cool, and it does get it. Maybe 225 hp ? I dunno'......but I'll bet you do ! Shit for all I know....maybe the '32 is Rover engined ? I know the valve covers and manifolds fit....so maybe so. It sure as hell looks all Buick though...... with the O'Brien adornments all sparkled up..........and it most definitely hauls friggin' ass.
