Hot Rods Gray colored Hot Rods

Let's see those Gray colored Hot Rods please...

 

Yesterday it was tan,today it's gray...a lot of different colors are in a big box of Crayolas. HRP

 

Heres another one of those "tans" that I like

 

Just lookin for ideas HRP and at the same time letting others show off there beautiful rides.
Sorry low budget it's not going to be Maroon. The chassis and wheels will be maroon but the body is going to be either Tan or Gray. Just have to make a decision...

 

With maroon frame and wheels I'd go med to not too dark grey.

At the risk of being chastised for suggesting it..look at a color chart for Volkswagon Savannah Beige,,it's a nice color. HRP

 

Actually, that is a great color. Like it a lot.

Love a mean looking rod in black but after seeing HUNDREDS of them it is nice to see something a little different.

 

The 1931 MILLER V-16 INDY Car, another gray favorite of mine. Bob

 

That's the way I was leaning but I was exploring the Tan aspect because I didn't want to have that "Primer" look if you know what I'm getting at.

Sure would be nice to get that paint code from you but I know that's impossible from what you told me earlier.

 

Low budget, OK. But why does that equate to tan or gray? What kind of paint are you planning to use? Single stage enamel with no metallic is pretty forgiving, and cost effective, I doubt the car is gonna sit in the sun rain snow, enamel will hold up well. Trying to help, trying to understand your direction. Link to tcp global factory pack colors, Mesa gray looks pretty good, but you could choose any of the nonmetallic and get ss enamel or ss urethane.

If the budget is real low, ford tractor light grey is a pretty nice color, would go well with the maroon rims, available in oil based enamel at about any farm store. Add some hardener and reduce to shoot, or even brush it.
