My old California '55 sits about 3 miles from me in barn where it has been resting of the last 51 years. The guy who bought it was just a 19 year old kid with his first job an had BIG plans and no extra money to make them happen. He stuck it in his fathers machinery shed, got a job a GM and started dreaming of the day he would transform it into his vision of the prefect street machine. The next 20+ years found him working 50-60 hours a week while GM was at the height of their empire and the '55 became " someday, maybe when I retire". Even when the overtime went away due to foreign competition he rarely.gave the '55 a thought. I've approached him on a couple of occasions about selling but it's a NO GO as the dream is still there.........................but seems to me not a real commitment. Someday it's going to be a terrific "barn find" for some lucky soul. Frank
