what does "un-reversed and cropped " mean?

  3. Rootie, you just can't get a more beautifully designed and shaped car than the Leader Card 5, just a great profile.

The original image was reversed (flipped side to side), so he un-reversed it, that is put it the right way around again.
Cropping is what you to to chop off unwanted bits of background to focus in on the subject better.

The lady with the white dress and the floppy hat is my Aunt Bo. Picture was taken in San Antonio in 1919.

Rudy, the second photo down was obviously taken on the IRP road course when they ran counter-clockwise with the section west of the dragstrip cut out. This made it about 1.875 mile. The object was to give the roadsters a fighting chance, since there was only one right hand turn in this configuration. Don't know who is in the RE car, but I suspect the roadster may be the Weinberger Homes Special with Gordon Johncock driving.

After some research, I think that's Jim McElreath in the John Zink No. 52. He finished 5th, Gordie was 10th. I also think this race resulted in Mario's first champ car win in USAC.

Don't know if it was during practice or the race, but at some point Gordo seems to have gotten a little behind in his steering. :D

This is the same car that Bryan crashed in at Langhorne the year after this photo was taken.
