has anyone ever put a 59 Pontiac dash in their model a or have pictures? I originally wanted to put a 59-60 impala dash in mine but also really like the Pontiac dash. I am curious as to what it may look like in a small car
I haven't seen one in person but Zenors coupe looks good from here. I like the grafted dashes and I can't imagine using one any newer than that. I like that he carried over the wheel to match. On a separate note, I'm looking for an appropriate dash for my '39 Ford pickup. Previous owner "fixed" it up by smoothing it into a flat panel. Talk about boring. '60 is the same dash with a different, somewhat narrower cluster, may fit in there more easily. The only real advantage over an Impala dash is the Pontiac will fully unbolt - the Chevy is welded and you have to sawzall at least across the top near the windsheild pinch weld.
Mike used a lot of Poncho stuff in this build, engine, tri-color interior,etc,...the roof was filled with a 59 Pontiac hood turned backwards.
Wow- the workmanship in the door-to-dash fit on that coupe is spectacular. As, I****ume, is the rest of the car. Really slick coupe.
I do really like that car, especially all the Pontiac stuff on it since I am a Pontiac fan. I do agree that anything newer would just be to out of place but the 32 dash has been overdone and had to make unique. I have always liked the look of the late 50s - 60s crazy "space age" dashes
What era was this build ? I would have thought that looked as good as trying to put a new Mustang dash in there....but it actually doesn't look like I thought it would. I will say with a blindfold on....I sure would be bewildered when its taken off. That's definitely unexpected.
built about 8 years ago...from this;...built by Marty & Sons out of Sycamore, Illinois, home of the first Hunnert Car Pileup.
