Is that a Acadian or a nova ? None the less cool car . Nice vette , what year ? I am not up on vettes . I am going to guess though a 58 ? Plumbid , nice car as well . 28 or 29 ?
about a year What's not shown is the roll bar, interior panels, fuel tank mounting, decklid hinges and even the decklid gutters, decklid latching and striker panel...a whole buncha stuff!
It's a 1930. I'll mention that I "cheated" because I started with a nice car! It's a different feeling starting with such a clean car. The 2 previous off-frame vehicles I did were very rough - I feel I "saved" them. This one, I get the feeling that I "changed" it.
Change is a good thing as it allows you to personalize it as you see fit . Two frame offs previous , you know my pain LOL ! Andy..
Rocky: You mentioned decklid hinges. Did you build your own? I just made up a pair for my cabrio....too tight to buy a new pair. Love to see pics. Tim
14 months to complete, finished in August, 2014. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/31-model-a-hot-rod-restoration.847790/
Started with a bare finished ch***is. Finished up the steering, headers, shock mounts, painted, plumbed, brakes, had the rear rebuilt, rebuilt the 322, rebuilt the 37 Buick Transmission, modified the firewall. Wiring kit is coming. Won't be long now....

my thread on the cabriolet build: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/29-cabriolet-build-better-late-than-never.945429/ Color: on upper left is selected color. It is a variant of the original 1929 color. The hood is painted as four sample panels with slight variations of the original color, Andalusite Blue. It is a very dark purplish blue. The selected shade is a bit lighter and less purple.
Thanks Andy But-well-not really that fast-it took me another 10 months from where I started to get it to where I could paint it(first pic) and another 14 months to color sand, polish and ***emble-including the time at the trim shop.
Whoa ! That 57 Bumper looks excellent on your car JBUHL1954 . And then is that a stock bar ***embly ? They look good together. I would like to air my ride but the exchange on the dollar , shipping , brokerage fees , tax , double the price up here for us Canucks .
Thanks man I appreciate it!! Ya the top bar and center bar are the stock 54!! I extended the cones back to fit around the fender and trimmed the bumper in to the fender also!! The center bar I cut the park lights off and shaped the bar to match the cones radius!! Then just did the same on the top bar!!
