Wow, the old RKO Palace Theater in Rochester N.Y. Very famous for the grand organ that was there. I remember some of the Saturday shows for kids in the 50's and 60's where they gave away cool prizes. If you had a mark on the bottom of your popcorn container, you could win a prize. I once won a toy doctors kit. The next kid was luckier and won a bike.
Thanks Swi66, brings back some good memories. Also liked the shots of the MAY CO in California (no relation). My Grandmother loved that store and when I lived there or visited in later years, we would drive over in her 56 Chevy and do a little shopping.

Great shot of Radio and the "Iron Duke". Looks like the 56 car in the second picture, Russo put on quite a show till his tire blew. I bet he sucked some seat upholstery up his ass on that one!

The gentleman behind Mr. Gardner appears to be Jean Marcenac. Looks like he is recording the scale readings.

The shot with Russo leaving the car really brings back memories. That was my first 500, two days after I graduated from high school. He and Pat O'Connor were having a fantastic duel for the lead when that right rear tire blew. When he hit the wall there was a tremendous flash of flame, probably from the magnesium wheel hitting the concrete. He got out of the car and, after getting to the infield, stepped back up to the inside of the track and saluted O'Connor as they came by under caution. He said later it was some of the best racing he'd ever been involved in.
