That video didn't take, but I was trying to show the reverse curve blending into the the other. There's the piece I needed to add to do it.

Now if I could get just 1/2 way to this quality of metal finish thrown down by metalsurgeon

Can't use that one anymore, even the full riot gear probably wouldn't save you if that came apart in use

  4. Man oh man !!!
when i spotted that it made the hair stand up on my head. And I'm shaved bald :) I pictured that at 8000 rpm really fucking some stuff up.

That style without the safety edge can have those problems. I ordered another - 2 days out though.

Some times we get lucky enough to catch a potential disaster before it occurs.
Maybe it is time to buy a couple of lottery tickets. ;)

  6. Damn. How many tequilas did that one ferret out of the cabinet ? Woulda' hurt for sure....

  7. So while I'm waiting on the new disk to show up, I started on the little filler pieces in the windshield posts and doors. No bigger than a credit card but plenty of precision required. Kind of amazing how much time a small piece of steel can hold.

In some ways, those small intricate pieces can be more difficult than the large ones. But we know you will knock this out of the park, just like you have been doing with all of the preceding work you have done. ;)

Nice work! I just had to make a 34 quarter this weekend lol

Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

  11. Thanks for that :)

Thank you, I guess there a great deal of lesser things a man can aspire too.

    Thank you!

I think I'd rather make a 1/4 panel than this little stuff. There's no forgiveness in these little pieces.

    keep them doggies Rollin

Roof panel started. Just Starting to take some shape but man it's like a touchy spring loaded mouse trap. Push one little pucker and the thing sends the level flying. Needs a bit of shrinking on the corners and a some more crown.

  13. Getting much closer now, spring action is gone, almost sits without clamps.
There's About 1-1/4" crown in it now, needs maybe 1/4" more.
    Merry Christmas !!!

Sometimes it was like watching a bad horror movie, but you have beat back the monsters. Merry Christmas and hope you have a better New Year for the Red Car. Looks great.

Now to see what the rear windows look like when you get them in

  20. It won't be very aerodynamic if you mount it that way, but it will be the only one like it.

  21. Lol just when you think the hero is done hero-ing....the plot twists continue to evolve.

Dude, if this is yet another scope of a continuing to develop thread.....this is by far indeed my favorite. I can't wait to see where this shit goes. Roof done, paint? Oh no....now he wants to do the floors !! haha....Happy New Year man. Greatness. It is easy to lose track of what haven't you done, good stuff.

  22. I was gonna reuse the old floor that I cut out, but I fucked up some of the bed frame angle and old shelving in the removal process so I'm going to have to make it.

all the layout on my one piece floor is done- beads, drive shaft tunnel, ladder bar reliefs, crossmembers, seat mounts. Now I'm gonna cut it up , bend it and then shove it thru the bead roller. If only I'd have been more carefull when cutting the shelves out of it.

    Warning- includes sarcasm

Deja vu, just had an A body on it's nose like that a couple days ago. Good way to find out where all the missing hardware went.:) Roof turned out great.

  24. Couldn't get the full bend in the break, the front part of the pan hit the lock down handle at about 15* so finished up the 90 over the table the old fashioned way. Little action shot. image.jpg

My bead roller is a monster and will roll beads in 10 ga but it only goes 13" deep. Because of the angle I could only get 10" in, had to feed from both sides and flip the panel so that's why it's bobbled in the deepest parts. If I delete the pics nobody will ever know or see:)
    image.jpg

I really really wanted a flat floor. I was almost there save for a small bump in the rear. We figured the tunnel adds quite a bit of back bone to the floor pan so it got a full tunnel instead of the 12x6x2 bump towards the rear. Still have to cut in the ladder bar reliefs, probably don't even really need them but they should look neat and fulfill the roll of stiffening beads back there.

    image.jpg

The tunnel is tapered symmetrically because the pinion is offset slightly and now so is the other side of the tunnel:). The top of the tunnel was hammer bent over a piece of 1" round stock. Simple draw up tells you were to bend.

This old hemi head was the perfect weight to balance the body. Cheap help for those important jobs. He's on the job 24/7 over the holiday.
    Happy new year.

    Thanks and you too.

Same goes for you too - You were supposed to stop that before your eyes were damaged.
Thanks, it's great when things roll along in the correct general direction.

no way, the windows will be last and I'm gonna keep them covered :p

Happy new year to to you to brother !
I haven't lost track, there's only 1 piece that I haven't touched yet. The 55 dash and I'll be fucking with that pretty soon.

Man it sounded like it was raining BBs lol.
    Thanks man.

Ok, so I missed my goal of all metal work finished by Christmas. But that's what happens.
I'll keep plugging and see where it goes and it's on a pretty good roll now.

  27. Oh----- I get it . That's funny because I might know who to to sell that stuff to.
    :)

  28. Lol,
It is kind of weird to see it sitting that way.

So I got 2 -1/2 hours where nobody is looking for me, requires my assistance, or needs anything from me.
    Shhhhh
