    hood sides restoration.Both hood sides were in the same shape.

    hood build cont. Because the style line detail on the hood halves are so sharp and crisp with detail ,it would be tough to replicate this detail in a new piece of material,so fortunately both of the areas are in good shape including the hinge detail to the hood sides.So we graft in these sections to our freshly made hood sections.

    I just make a traditional wired edge and then cut in the sections opposite each other to form the piano hinge.Very detailed and time consuming.

    Beautiful. I'm not clear how it helped you to cut the louvers in half. Was it to remove material, so that when straightening them they didn't become too long and bowed?

    yes removed 1/16" as the louvers became over stretched .removal of the material brought them back to flat.
