Dang if you call me out next year I had better dig deep in my bag of tricks to make my little 383 even stand a chance.

Squirrel, my tire looks like too! I have 235/75/15 Tiger paws, recapped by Hurst tire... Size is 281/8x8x15 pie crust... I'm thinking I need wider rim, have 7" wide now, thinking an 8" wide rim. I'm also unsure what to run the tire pressure at? I've Emailed Hurst in the past asking about tire pressure, but never got email back... Or maybe just save the 7" rims & Hurst tires for car shows... Then get a tire/rim combo for drag racing??? Jim

Saltflats just remember that races have been won and lost on reaction times, and a good reaction time deserves a beverage of choice!

RIC, did your shock limiter start life as a shock simulator? Or is it completely from scratch? ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1419886282.812336.jpg

  10. I made them at work from remnant stock I bought at Industrial Metal, around the corner from work. Those would probably, just "slot" the single hole to allow travel. I left more material at the top, so the shock bolt wouldn't pull through, when it topped out

    All-

    Pre-registration starts tonight!

    See the details below.

One clarification on projects.... We love that people are building cars for this event and will handle the pre-registration for projects differently. We will hold a project list of pre-registrants and check in with the builder by June 1st to get an update on progress and request an updated pic. So, if a project will be ready...they will be racing!

Happy new year and the 2015 Meltdown Drags!

    Two things:
1:Its pretty tight between the carbs and the hood!
2:Dont worry Jeff, those old aluminum heads are only borrowed for mockup, cause they have the right bolt pattern for my headers....I haven't got adapter plates for the C5 289 heads that Im gonna run on El Rauncho 289-O ;)

    Scott-

The only way I will get worried is if you decide to put a motor in the Lukeplakia Shanker that has the distributor in the correct location...

On a serious note Scott, it does look good. I like the hood and can't wait to see you and the car again.

  19. Hey now.... the distributor belongs up front!

And they made kits to fix that for the other engines...
