Check the county ***essor website, you can get a name of who owns the property, then with a phone book you can get a phone number...
In a no ***le state like Alabama, that wouldn't matter a bit. No ***le needed for pre 1975 cars, just a VIN to register the license plate tag to.
Looks more like a right/front collision parked the car-a long time ago. Makes me wonder if the frame is bent and if the engine will fire (if the car was in a collision that took it off the road). A 2 dr sedan Bel Air is definately worth puting back together (if its ***led and the frame is straight). I'd fully expect rocker and floor work. What amazes me is how complete the car is for sitting in an open, unfenced, vacant lot!!! Though someone already nabbed the valuable quarter stainless, there's still plenty of valuable parts that are still on the car; steering wheel, stainless trim, doors, seat, etc. Also surprised the gl*** hasn't been smashed, etc.
Or kick his *** and take it from him. I have done that with abused dogs, I can't imagine that it wouldn't work just as well with an old chebby.
The way I look at it whatever anyone else does on to or with their own private property is their own business. Ive got no use for pretty police & do gooders. If someone pulled a stunt like sicking the authorities on me. that wouldn't facilitate me selling it to them or anyone else. I would burn smash and take a chopping axe to it. and haul it to the s**** man. if you want to buy something you need to realize That person who has it kept all this time it because they like it. So in order to purchase it from them you must present a cash offer they like better. If you still cant buy it there are more cars.
I like your at***ude. I had a '57 rag Top once ( without a ***le) that we used for target practice. No one wanted it more than 20 or 30 dollars and the trim was good so it was worth more then that as entertainment to me.
that doesn't always work. Guy down the street from me tried that. I had a bunch of cars and the guy down the street wanted to buy the one to street rod. when I wouldn't sell he complained to the county. What he didn't realize was I was at the courthouse regularly buying foreclosures, paying up back taxes and bringing other properties back up to codes. so when they contacted me and told me about the complaint, they were willing to work with me and gave me a permit so I could build my first pole building 40'x104' and gave me plenty of time. Probably helped who my dad was too in the meantime they told me who complained and then they found out through me that guy was running an illegal body shop out of his residential property. He got mad at me when he stopped back later on and I still wouldn't sell and I had a building permit for that size of a building. He really got mad when he got a big fine for the illegal business and he had to shut down immediately. he tried to have them reverse their decision on my shed but because I only build my own cars and not running a shop that works on others he didn't have a leg to stand on. he tried other things but he got shot down every time and then someone clued him in about me working with the county so closely, he finally gave up, put his place up for sale and moved where he could have a shop. I always wonder if he ever figured out it was because of me he couldn't split his land .
I bought this particular '55 2 dr. BelAir over 25 years ago, it was sitting on a Dodge 4X4 power Wagon, no firewall, no trans tunnel, no trunk floor to speak of and the quarter panels where cut "way up" for huge mudder type tires. Have sence sold it to a customer who is taking it in a street rod direction unfortunately but it was saved sorta! If you end up with the OP '55 I have most all trim to complete plus lots of new rubber, etc.
Absolutely nuts. S**** price? Show me anywhere you can buy that for s**** price. You could sell that thing down to a bare frame if you wanted, you could even sell the body shell and doors to someone to convert a 4-door. Car should come out in one piece, the big deal will be the frame rails from the door line to the middle of the axle arch, they can rot out there. But unless it's really bad it won't come apart. I wouldn't pay a fortune for it either, but $1000 wouldn't be out of line on it. More if the floors and stuff are good.
Is the car still sitting and rotting or did original poster step to it ? Its been a while now Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
If all Stainless to the belt line, front and rear window SS is there I see 6-8 hundred for those pieces, another 6-8 for the original front and back seat, a little for the steering wheel, etc. Anyway you cut it, it would make a great '60's style g***er, street freak or ground pounder......................
People start these threads so they can set back and watch all the posters get excited and run off at the mouth.
I am also waiting for the after putting air in tires a little buffing pics.probably worried about window not rolling up due to corrosion [rust to us mere mortals] simple do not drive in rain or leave valuables in plain sight.
Yep there was another where a guy retrieved a beat up 55 htp from out in the desert and hauled it in. and never posted any more.
