The guy in the second picture of post #6563 (car#31)is actually a woman.

 

Looks like a fabric body. There is similar, but skiff-bodied, BSA advertised in the December issue of The Automobile (the British magazine, not the similarly named American one). It is listed at £11,500. The reg number is not visible in the advertisement.

Some had fabric over plywood and some were alum. skinned. I missed buying one at auction this year that went for $9,000.00

Fred, The above vehicle is a Leon Bollee from around 1898. Bob

 

The more I think about the one for sale in The Automobile, the more think the skiff body is more recent.

 

Here is a unique one from Italy
San Giusto 1922-1924 4 wheel independent suspension
4 forward speeds
4 wheel brakes( 1924 only)
738cc 6hp 4 cyl aircooled
Looks pretty advanced for early 20s

If anyone has a pic of the complete vehicle I would like to see it.

Does anyone know if a VIN was stamped on the frame? If so, where?
