Thanks I'll keep that in mind...HA!

Thanks the Body is pretty nice in most spots and total crap in others, but its mine and its very workable.

Most of the doors got sold to a friend but I might have a save-able drivers side door available.

I have always thought that 3 1/2 inches was the spot on chop for a sedan. Goes back to the first time I seen the orange crate sedan as it was 3.5 chop on it.

Compelling argument, is that how much you cut yours?

My last sedan had a 3.5 inch wedge chop. 3.5 at the front, 3.25 in the middle and 3 in the back. Stretched the top, did not lean the posts. It was bitchn and now lives in LA.

Not that my opinion counts for much, but a 32 sedan looks chopped, compared to a 31.
It's the square windows on the front doors that makes a 31 look weird, begging for a chop.
But the 32 is ahead 1-2 inches from stock, and since it's a sedan, no need to go slammed top.
But if you must, you must, but go slow.
The slanted posts is for lake style, in my opinion, and that defines the whole build.

But a slight chop comes a long way.
    Is it a Model B or a V8?
What's the plan for power plant?

Here is Gary's (Krylon32) sedan that is now owned by Lorenzini in LA. Completely redone and ready to rock and roll.

Got the drivers side door adjusted and latching today (thanks to some timely advice on proper hinge shimming techniques from Eli). Ran into a problem with the passenger side latch but I think I know how I'll fix it.

I'll bet its been at least 30 years since the doors opened and latched closed on this car. Also hit my buddy Tony up for some cool reclaimed wood and started doing the front floors.

Really like that you are trying to keep real Ford parts on your build. That floor looks great, keep it up man.

Yes 3.5 is what mine is cut.

Maybe it isn't the best pic ( good enough me) but it does stand to prove a point 3.5-4" is about all a deuce needs to be slick. if it is something that is getting driven and not shooting for a land speed record it doesn't need to be freakishly chopped.

Thanks man I'm trying to strike a balance between old timey and the ability to get in the car and drive it to Bonneville on a moments notice

    Looks great.

Freakish chop has never been in my game plan. Originally I was going to do 3 in the front 2.5 in the back but I may do 3.5 and 3, need to do get my buddy @flash to do a little photo shop action for me to settle for sure. Either way I have plenty of work to do before I chop it. I was planning on getting it driving before I made any modifications to the body, and I may still, but I also may get too excited one night and bust out the hack saw... especially if @Pete has his way.

I didn't have you in mind on that comment. When I was scrolling I remembered one with mail slots that was posted recently that stirred a little drama.

I looked at a deuce sedan that had been an old drag car at one time that was chopped to the max and I remember thinking that if you were driving it you would have to have a braille tree or you wouldn't know when to leave. ;)

I am keeping an eye on your build by the way, it is going to be a good one to watch.

I'm 6.2/250 and on my 32 sedan (pictured above) that was wedge chopped 3.5 front and 3 rear I had no problems getting in and out of the car or with vision. I had a Tea's 32 bench seat on Tea's tracks bolted directly to the floor. If I ever decide to do another sedan I will do the same chop again.

Lookin' good, Johnny. The doors look like they've been with the car all along.

@krylon32 did you lean the posts back or lengthen the roof on yours? Looks great!

Stretched the roof. I did this car on a tight budget and it was cheaper to stretch the roof than lean the posts. I liked it.
