  2. You could get that, sell the fenders, wet sand the paint, cut up the hood for some lake headers, rip the cloth top out of it, gut the interior and have a pretty nice rat rod.

How would you like to find that in an estate sale??? talk about lucky. geez

wow! i don't know whether i'm more shocked at how cool and clean that car is or the fact that they're bringing the money they are......sheesh!!! if i had it, i'd spend it too! ....that's just unreal....

  4. If I had waited another year to buy mine, I would have never been able to afford one. At one point I thought $100K for a Deuce was nuts......but seeing those $1M Hemi Cudas makes me think this stuff is way under priced. I

Those of you that did the shop crawl with me last year will remember the Hemi Cuda's under restoration.....well how about $1.1M for the vert and $.8M for the hardtop.

"Sweet lookin car all gennie and all,but is it just me or does anyone else think 55K or more for a car ya have to go through to to bottom is a tad bit silly???"

One thing about this is that at some level the cost of going through a car completely starts to become small in relation to the total car...

If you are having a '68 Camaro completely gone through, cleaned. painted, new rubber, etc., the cost is gonna be more than the value...and muscle car prices have shot up and crashed several times in recent memory.
If you're having a Doozy dual cowl Phaeton done, the cost of refinishing everything and screwing it back together is trivial in relation to total $ involved.
A deuce is rapidly moving toward the high end side of that equation, and deuce prices have been headed steadily UP since WWII at least...and no changes in rodding fashion or even the arrival of damn good repro tin has caused even a flicker in the price curve. Put $20,000 into refurbishing an expensive 3W or roadster, and prices will have gone up by that much about the time the paint dries. Any 3W or roadster price you see will be a regrettable missed bargain real damn soon. The time to buy in is, unfortunately, yesterday!

...I noticed Dick Burke(Turbodickie) is bidding. He's already got a beautiful 3W. Wonder why he wants another? Super nice guy though.:D Yes, the prices for deuce stuff has escalated to STUPID levels even in just the last 18 months since I found my rusty, crusty, POS for 20k...I really don't feel stupid for payin' that now.

Are you calling me a gold chainer ? ? :D

Larry ..he owns the one I posted a photo of above. He has owned 4 or 5 32 3W's in the past few years. Buys and sells....I bought my 3W dash from him....He offered a 100 grand for a nice original 32 3W at the Shades of the Past in 05.....

If he really wants the eBay 3W.....he has the funds to buy it.....

Reggie .........I talked to the previous owner of your 3W before you bought it. I started to buy it......and should have. He would have taken my old 40 in on trade......but I thought I could get a 32 3W and keep the 40.....as I did not want to sell it also.

Turned out I could not get one without getting rid of the other...it rough being broke....

He paid $75.5K for it less than a month ago- the owner before that paid $500 for it!!!

  14. I still believe we won't see it end on Ebay. This auction will be cancelled before it ends. Someone with DEEP pockets will take the gloves off soon.

I'd love to see Dick get it. That old dude is hard core.

Man, Call me crazy, but this is the second one that I have seen for this kind of money within the past few months, but I also saw a "killer" deal on a 32 3W just about 1 & 1/2mi away from my place about a month ago. This car is a full fendered 32 3W That eyeballs just right but will need the usual "I gotta make it mine work"It was had for -Are you sitting down while reading this? If you aren't you might wanna grab a chair or lay down on the couch-I say this because of all those guys that are paying $75 to 100k might faint. This car was had for $7,500.00!!!!! You read right, the decimal points are in the right places! This guy who bought it also owns the Phil Kendrick/Jeff Beck "Super Prune" as well the the under pinnings of the Hot Rod Magazines Voted "Bitchinist Hot Rod of all time Eastwood-Barakat Sedan" -Eastwood sold the chassis & the body went to Barakat when the duo split up. Car is now an orange Wescott Bodied Roadster. This stuff is still out there, you just gotta listen & look.An old guy came up to me once While I was in my 34 3W & said that he had a deuce 3W sitting in his garage-Had an adapter for a chevy or olds? I thought that he was blowing smoke. I didn't take down his # but I gave him my card.Well he had one & sold it for like $45k not running & eng out to someone I know about a year ago. This car could have been running in a weekend! The guy who bought it,bought another & then stepped up & bought the Linda Jo/Stroupe Coupe for another big ol chunk of change. I'm just glad that I like Model 40's more than B' s & 32 V8's, Too rich for my blood. This stuff never gonna dry up, people die & stuff changes hands, we're just the caretakers for awhile. Don't panic, somethings gotta give sometime.

    :D

I do believe that they are still out there for less than 10 grand.....but I could never find one ...:(
I paid a somewhat large price ( IMO ) for the coupe I bought but it has a almost perfect body. If you add up the price for a Brookville 32 3W body, a decent 32 original frame, fenders, hood, fuel tank and all the stuff that goes with it....I am in decent shape and mine is a Henry issued 32 3W.

I know where 8 or 10 32 3W coupes are within a 125 mile radius of my home....but you cannot buy them......

I would give 75 grand for the eBay 32 3W.. but I do not think that 75 will buy it....

I told my wife that the car was a deal at 80,000 dollars. Its like real estate on the beach, it only goes one direction. I hope he enjoys that car, I know I sure would.

  25. I don't say this about many $80,000 cars, but: worth every penny.
