  4. The only coupe model I've ever seen that had that profile was the Plymouth. And I always thought they looked the best of all. They had some fine features, like hydraulic brakes. But they were rare.

Interesting rear wheel. First I've seen of those on Indy cars. But what do I know. Gary

    gnichols,
yes the wheels went from 18 inch narrow treads to 15 inch wide treads. In 1963 there was a shortage of the 15 inchers and some had to run the 16 fronts/18 rears in the 500. This would be the death nell for the hammer knockoffs too. Couldn't hit the spinner anymore.

I don't know about the Corvette, but the T-Bird is a '56. They had the connie kit, wind wings, and side vents behind the front wheels. There were some interior details that were different, steering wheel, I think, and a flatter seat. 56 went to 12 volt from 6 of the 55s.

The Vette is a '56...missing the crossed flags in the coves that were introduced in '57.

I think the band in post # 97150 may be The Lovin' Spoonful. Can anyone verify that?

Jim, thanx for the back-brief. I forgot to ask... were those wide rears Halibrands or perhaps American Racing? They look a little bit Torque Thrusty to me but I suppose Halibrand would be the better guess. Later, Gary

101 South Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena (note the Castle Green in the background); later became a Datsun dealer. That dealer closed and the building was torn down in the mid 1980s; I remember when they removed the Datsun sign atop the tower you could see the shadow of the old Ford lettering underneath.
