Features Fenderless Model A's, Show Us Your A-Frames!

Banger with what go-parts? Build threat, or survivor? No drop, and split bones?

 

The roadster is an old survivor with paint, interior, etc from the 1950s or there-abouts. Basically a stock chassis that has been lowered using reversed eye'd Model A spring up front and a Model T spring in the rear. The wheels are Kelsey Hayes with 7.50 and 6.00 x 16" tires. Thought about selling it awhile back but came to my senses again! It has been pictured on this and other websites a lot during the last 8 years.

The coupe was assembled by me about five years ago and sold shortly there after. Same chassis and wheel mods as the roadster.

 

I never get tired of looking at either one , GZ. Keep them coming.
It may just be the pic, but did you flatten and bend the rear radius rods on the roadster for more clearance where they cross beneath the frame rail?

Something keeps drawing me back to this car. Not sure if it is the simplicity or what but I like it.

Thanks for the nice comment. The "modified" radius rods were on the car when I got it. I really don't know why they did this.

 

I like this car. Something about the look of it. The non-rubber rake, overstuffed interior, clean black exterior. Refreshingly different.

I believe it was done to allow more clearance when using stock Model A drivetrain and rear spring. I know that we used a reversed eye starter that we de arched slightly and removed some leaves and thought that was about as far a you can go for clearance between radius rod and bottom of frame rail without bottoming out. Maybe those are not Model A rods? Seems like they would get shorter if flattened out.

 

Here's mine. 31 on Pinkees pinched 32 rails. No cowl steer which brings all kinds of steering mods to make it work without shaving off all the high spots in out streets. I'm trying to figure out what I want to do for the windshield. Something fresh and functional. Tired of the Hallocks and Duvalls.

I think they are "custom" made rods done back in the day. They look a bit more heavier than the standard Model A radius rods.

 

Not a 32 frame and it's not stock either but, it is a Model A, sort of.
