So Andy brought this cut down 30-31 A Coupe to be saved from the wraths of somoenes dream of owning a roadster. Luckily when And purchased the car the previous owner had saved some major pieces in getting this Coupe back together. This had to be a western states car because it was very solid. Here is how the Body showed up to the shop After lots of measuring, luckily I have a stock A in the shop to measure and look at, I was able to figure out some really crooked lines had been cut and about 1 1/2" of metal were missing in places. [jATTACH=full]2808068[/ATTACH] You can see how wakeful the original cut was Here is how much metal was missing So the process of getting it all back together stock, knowing at the end it was gonna get a heavy 5" chopp when all said and done Luckily the A pillars where only cut once as well as the doors so thank god that would save some work. Here it is ready for a fresh haircut, this was hard to do knowing all the work that had been done in preparation to get it back stock. First cut Test fitting And stitching back together slowly Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
In the meantime I also started a chassis for the Coupe Setting the crossmembers Narrowing a 9" for the chassis Setting up the ladder bars and spring hangers Installing bungs in the wishbones Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Nice save. A few of questions about your chassis: 1) What's the wheelbase? 2) How did you decide where to position the center x-member? 3) What engine/trans combo? Thanks, Gary
Gary it's gonna be stock wheelbase 106" The crossmember is made by Chassis Engineering set at there specs per sbc Engine is gonna be SBC with 4 speed
