Kipp, I wouldn't push too hard on the Guy who is installing your valve seats. According to my machinist buddy who has two flatheads on the bench right now and is our local flathead spe******t, installing hard seats in flatheads can be an iffy proposition. If cut too deep, you can hit water, weaken the base cast material causing cracks to develop between to the valves. He says it is do-able but the cuts need to be done slowly and carefully. So don't hurry the guy, it would be a shame to have to find a new block at this point.
While on the topic of engine ***embly, I'm ***embling mine while waiting on seat covers to arrive from Lebaron Bonney. My machine work was completed several years ago. I recall that you are using Arias and Isky stuff also. I have nothing but good to say about Arias stuff, not cheap but always spot on correct products. On the other hand, I'm presently stalled on my ***embly, waiting on a callback from Isky as upon "timing" my cam to the crank I discovered the opening and closing times of my cam are all over the place. My intakes are 2 degrees late opening and all the closings are 6 or 7 degrees early.!#*%&. So make sure your ***embler "times" the cam to crank to make sure everything lines up to spec. Sometimes the keyway will be advanced or retarded relative to the lobes.Apparently, this is not uncommon with Isky cams. Don't ***ume that everything will be right by just lining up the dots.
Best Regards and good luck with all your endeavors, KB.

I know what you are saying but Larry dropped the block off months ago. I think it was like October if I remember correctly. Its not like I am trying to rush things its just at this point if the squeaky wheel dosent get some grease then maby its time to go else where.
As far as the cam goes Larry knows these flattys well so I have faith he will find any problems the cam might have.
The body should be ready to be installed within the week so I will be at a roadblock until the engine is installed and spring is not far off.
    Later Kipp.

The body and rear fenders are done being polished so I brought them home today. Here she is on the trailer waiting to be unloaded. And another safe in the garage. And the fenders sitting on the ch***is. Brian is supposed to have the welding done on the cast aluminum grill on Wed then it can go to the chromer.

Thanks. If I can get her done the Pontiac might finaly get paint also.
Thanks. Spring is coming fast hopefully she will be back together quickly.
Thanks for the compliments. I dident fill the roof to keep her late 40's period correct as possible. I also like the look of the vinyl insert on the 30's cars it gives them carecter. X38 understands wher I am coming from. Just a personal preference.

Nope, hopefully it'll be done in time for LARS. Yours will probably be done sooner.
