    our local Sambos closed after a "disgruntled employee" put lye in the boysenberry syrup.A customer suffered chemical burns in her throat after eating her silver dollar pancakes. Mismanagement surely played a part but that dimbass deserved a public flogging instead of the slap on the wrist he got.

    No, that, I believe, is Art Hillis in the Woestman-Chabot Spl. a Pikes Peak car around 1948. Don't know if it ever ran oval tracks. woestman.jpg

    Rootie, the guy in the #49 car happens to be my dad (Art Hillis). Picture was taken at the Broadmore Garage where many of the race car were kept during the Pikes Peak Hillclimb. I believe this picture was taken in 1949. This car had a 91" Miller engine.
